WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT: THIS IS WHO YOU ARE.
You’re a good person. You don’t call people dogs or animals simply because someone else does, or because of the color of their skin. You know better. You were raised properly. You were taught that every human being deserves dignity, respect, kindness, and love.
You treat people with care and compassion, even when they have nothing to offer you in return. You extend to others the same grace you hope to receive yourself. You don’t discriminate against anyone because they are Asian, White, Hispanic, or Black. You understand that beneath our different appearances, languages, cultures, and backgrounds, we all belong to one human race.
You are wise enough to understand something that many people spend their entire lives trying to learn: The only thing we truly possess is the time we have been given to live. Everything else can come and go. Money can disappear. Power can fade. Beauty can change. Titles can be forgotten. But the kindness you show someone, the dignity you give them, and the love you leave in their heart can last long after you are gone.
And so you choose kindness.
You are kind to the stranger you meet on the street, the person serving your food, the person cleaning the building, the person struggling to make ends meet, and the person who may never be able to repay your generosity. You treat everyone with dignity because you understand that you never know what someone is going through. You never know the battles they are fighting in silence. You never know whether your smile, your words, or your simple act of kindness might be the one thing that gives them hope to face another day.
And you never know whether today might be the last day you see someone on this earth.
That is who you are.
People come to you for comfort because they know they will find compassion. They come to you for truth because they know you will be honest. They come to you for encouragement because they know you will not humiliate them for being vulnerable.
People associate your name with goodness, kindness, honesty, and love. When they think of you, they remember how you made them feel. They remember that you listened when others ignored them. That you cared when others walked away. That you treated them like human beings when the world made them feel invisible.
You don’t need to make someone else feel small to feel important. You don’t need to insult another person’s race, religion, nationality, or background to feel proud of your own. You understand that another person’s dignity takes nothing away from yours. Their happiness does not diminish yours. Their success does not make you a failure.
You can disagree with people without hating them. You can stand firmly for what you believe without stripping anyone of their humanity. You can speak the truth without cruelty. You can be strong without being heartless.
And when the world becomes angry, bitter, divided, and cruel, you refuse to become a reflection of its worst qualities.
You remain kind.
Not because life has always been kind to you. Not because everyone has treated you fairly. Not because you have never been disappointed, betrayed, rejected, or hurt. But because you have made a conscious decision that the pain you experience will not become the pain you inflict on others.
You refuse to let the cruelty of others destroy the goodness within you.
You understand that being a good person does not mean being weak. It takes strength to remain gentle in a harsh world. It takes courage to defend someone who is being mistreated. It takes wisdom to know when to forgive, when to walk away, and when to stand up for what is right.
You also know that kindness does not require you to accept abuse. You can protect your peace, establish boundaries, and say no while still treating others with dignity.
You attract beautiful things in life because you recognize beauty in people.
