Cost control, or lack of it. The symptom of a mgt team shaped by events, not shaping them and controlling them. Ultimately, when a business has costs out of control, like this, you don’t cut the core product you cut the periphery and noncore. It really shouldn’t be this hard.

🏉🏴💰📉The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has reported a loss before tax of £18.1m for the year to 30 June 2026, up from £7.2m the previous year, despite a rise in turnover.
The WRU's turnover increased by £10.1m to £116.2m, but profitability fell sharply.
The operating loss was £14.8m, compared with £4.7m in 2024-25.
