1. Introducing a new thread: super basic lung pathology for PGY1s, with arrows. If you are a PGY1, leave a comment and I will tag you in a future post. A hamartoma is a disorganized mix of overgrown normal tissues (in their normal location) that creates a mass. Good news: they are benign! #pathology #pulmpath #tweetorial #pathtweetorial #sblppgy1

This is honeycomb change. That is a fact. No amount of multidisciplinary discussion will change this. #pulmpath

Fibroblast foci are important, but don’t forget about honeycomb change, the functionally devastating consequence of advanced fibrosis in usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP). Movat pentachrome stain #pathology #pulmpath #FibroblastFocusFriday nature.com/articles/s41379-0…

Absolutely spot on!!
Dr. Kimberly Allison (2026 Diagnostic Pathology Update Q&A) on how her thinking about breast resection margins evolved: I used to worry a lot about close margins and would sweat precise measurements + extra levels. The data shifted my thinking: margins may not matter as much as we once believed Surgery is essentially a debulking procedure. Some microscopic satellite disease can be left behind; residual microscopic disease is commonly controlled by RT ± systemic therapy Additional info here pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2933… #PathX #BreastPath #USCAP

2/ Dear #ENTPath and #HeadAndNeckPath colleagues, I'd appreciate your opinion! 62M, nasal septal mass. Two small tissue fragments (0.5 and 0.3 cm). Polypoid fibroinflammatory lesion with unusual, variably sized clear stromal spaces that look artifactual to me. I don't see many ENT specimens, so I'd love to hear from those who do. Is this a finding you commonly encounter? How would you interpret it? How would you sign out ? See previous post pics . Pics are mostly from those weird areas ,no the inflammatory. Many thanks! 🙏😊 Would love to hear your thoughts on this case! 🙏😊 A few more pics on third post @ENTpathology @PathDocBoston @BinXu16 @HeadandNeckPath @menamansour @AJPerricone #ENTPath #HeadAndNeckPath #PathTwitter @Histopatolomon @RibianszkyA

You know you're a pathologist when a clinician asks "can you just take a quick look?" and you hear "please spend the next hour on levels, stains, and a consult." #PathologistProblems #DoctorsDocMD

Pathology really isn’t that hard as long as you know what every cell in the entire human body should look like, and then know every possible thing that could make it not look that way, and whether or not that’s a big deal
