The bookstore in the metro station beneath Shanghai’s city library seemed increasingly out of place in Xi Jinping’s China. Jifeng Books has now re-opened—7,500 miles from its original location econ.st/4hq1Y8J 👇

For tech communities yes. Others not so much. For example, photographers I follow here remain active and no one moved to Mastodon yet. Would be interesting to see when, if at all, that happens.

If you’re still here, please join us on Mastodon! If you follow me for iOS/Apple things, the community is already there and geeking out about Ivory like it’s 2011 again ✨ I even tweeted about something diversity & inclusion related recently and got zero trolls in my replies 🤯

Non-tech communities, probably less impacted by the shut down of third party clients, are the ones that keep me from abandoning the platform entirely.

I prefer Feedbin over Inoreader because of its simplification: 1. One price tag. No tiers. 2. No recommendations or algorithms. 3. The design. Bonus: If I ever miss Whitney, I can open the web reader and read from there.

Twitter is rolling out View Count, so you can see how many times a tweet has been seen! This is normal for video. Shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem, as over 90% of Twitter users read, but don’t tweet, reply or like, as those are public actions.
