Today in Addis Ababa, Rwanda’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Yusuf Murangwa, and the Director General of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR), Ivan Murenzi ( @ivanmurenzi ), are participating in the joint opening of the 10th Session of the Statistical Commission for Africa (StatCom-Africa) and the 12th Meeting of the Regional Committee of United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) for Africa at @ECA_OFFICIAL .
Minister Yusuf delivered a Key note speech, emphasizing the need to fund statistics production in Africa. "We invest in statistics, we get value. We don’t invest, we lose a lot of value. Decisions without good evidence are very expensive."
