I have told all the young people in my family that, when looking for a mate, the list of positives you desire is important, as is the list of dealbreakers. You know what’s just as important? And that few do? The list of flaws that, while they may not be pleasant, you could pretty much tolerate those with some grace. None of us are going to marry perfection, and EVERY partner will have flaws. No, I do not mean “other ppl view that as a flaw but it doesn’t bug me.” I mean real genuine things that WILL bug you. And yes, all men/women should work on those in a marriage. But it is wise to know yourself well enough to know what flaws would make you crazy miserable to the point of threatening the marriage, and which flaws you might bitch and moan and sigh about, but could pretty much suck up *even if that never changed*. And if you think you are going to have a long marriage without encountering “Ima just have to suck it up” you are living in fantasy land. Make your list of tolerable flaws. The stuff you maybe wouldn’t love, but with which you could probably deal without massive effort. It’s a great exercise in self-knowledge if nothing else. If you find yourself unable to name “things I’d not like at all, but up with which I could put” then you need to climb down off your high horse before you’re ready for marriage.

We could not have had more fun celebrating Linsey and Trey. She was gorgeous, he was handsome, the weather was beautiful, the ceremony was smooth, the reception was a blast, and it could not have been more perfect.

Great advice.
If someone is struggling and you really *want* to help, don’t say “Call me.” Ask them straight up “Tell me ONE THING I can do to make it better. Just one practical thing.” It may be doing a few loads of laundry, or getting older kiddo out of their hair for a few hours, or whatever. But don’t be vague. Find a specific, practical task they need.

Courage is a beautiful virtue. Well done, young man.
POWERFUL: #Browns rookie WR KC Concepcion has battled a stutter his entire life but he still makes it a point to speak with the media after every game. KC continues to show incredible courage and is an inspiration to everyone who struggles with a stutter.

Think about the other side of this. Some dude is watching thinking "Okay, as long as he doesn't hole out here, I'm good . . ."

To be loved but not known is comforting, but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. To be fully known and truly loved is our greatest need and desire.

Great stuff . . .
Georgia high school students stage a fight to bait their principal to break it up, so they could sing him happy birthday. Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School principal Bobby Davis was seen sprinting to the fight to break it up. After Davis ripped the prank fight apart, the students started singing happy birthday. "He single-handedly changed me for the better, and he knows I could never take it for granted," said the student who came up with the idea. "the things he’s done during my time at LFO are truly memories i’d die with. i was so happy to come up with this idea and do it for him."

Training in godliness must be a higher priority than physical training. Do both, but give greater time, effort, and focus to training yourself to be godly.
