Egypt's President Sisi, in power since 2014, says his presidency will end in 2030 and the matter is "settled." He has also said there are no plans to change the constitution, amid rumours of a fourth term. "The coming period, in 2030, will be the end of my term as head of state, if God grants me life. This is completely settled and will not be discussed,” Sisi said. Amendments passed in 2019 extended presidential terms from four to six years and kept a two-term limit. They counted Sisi's first term as starting in 2018, which clears the way for him to serve until 2030. Sisi also unveiled a plan to train Egypt's next generation of leaders. PhD holders would spend 30 months at a state academy, and Egyptians would then elect from among them.

Posing as a MAGA anon on X, he allegedly messaged another Haverford professor around 50 times between October 2025 and May 2026. Ha is a member of Faculty for Justice in Palestine. He has called complaints about antisemitism on campus “Zionist witch hunts.” Originally from China, he is an associate professor of religion at Haverford who studies Islam in China. He holds a PhD in anthropology from Columbia. His dissertation is entitled, “Religion of the Father: Islam, Gender, and Politics of Ethnicity in Late Socialism.” He won the 2023 Clifford Geertz Prize in the Anthropology of Religion for his book, The Sound of Salvation: Voice, Gender, and the Sufi Mediascape in China. He is “charged with one count of cyberstalking pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2261A(2).
