Google Cloud's London region went down this morning and took UK banking with it.
Revolut lost card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, and sign-ins. Lloyds, HSBC, Royal Mail, and Rightmove all reported problems. Cause: a power event in one London zone.
Revolut runs its global systems on Google Cloud. One zone lost power and millions of people could not touch their money.
Single-region is not an infra strategy. It is a bet.

We just released uv 0.13.4, which updates our bundled certs in response to the eMudra incident.
This is a huge deal, and not unique to uv! It affects much of open source due to bundled CAs in certifi, webpki-root-certs, etc. Please upgrade anything that bundles CA certs.

It appears these intermediary certificates were issued with single-byte P-384 private keys. This means anyone can exploit this issue locally and issue valid certificates under them with no effort.

App is down, Payments don't work, cards ( even physical ) don't work and you can't transfer money out.
Insane fumble...
