It's Union School season. @TenantFed's organizing training, this year w 809 trainees from 131 cities across 39 states. Reno to Richmond, El Paso to Ann Arbor, tenants joined w properties ID'd, or ready for an assignment. At minimum, this means we organize 26,250 units by Sept :)

21st Century ROAD to Housing Act has passed Congress. Passed w bipartisan support, signaling a new day in American politics with housing as a central matter of economic policy. But ROAD isn't about tenants or the rent. On relief for everyday people, there's much more to deliver.

One of the best parts of ROAD is it includes a national version of Pennsylvania's Whole Home Repairs program, which supports working class homeowners to cover critical habitability upgrades. Congrats to @NikilSaval and team on building/testing this model.
In 2022, when we passed the Whole-Home Repairs program in Pennsylvania, we knew it could be a model for other states and even the country.
Today—with the inclusion of a national Whole-Home Repairs program in the 21st Century Road to Housing Act and its passage into law—it is.
