Listen, I appreciate the smugness about Peggy (likely) destroying Tafoya but if you were calling for her to drop out in the primary because of her lackluster fundraising back in February then like, I don’t really want to hear it from you 🫶

1 year later, the unpaid utility issue i've been pointing out with fine associates has finally come to a head - the city has released the names of all property owners with delinquent utility bills $12 million is owed to the city, and $1 million from ward 7, the majority from loring park landlords fine associates (110 grant, marquette place) and quadrel (brentwood apartments, haverhill)
Replying to @taylr
fun fact: 110 grant, tier 3 building in loring park, had $300k in unpaid city water bills, while president of fine associates who manage building, bianca fine, was instead donating to jacob frey in 2023, 2024, and 2025! renters should not vote for a mayor with slumlord support

$868,841.22 is owed to the City of Minneapolis in unpaid utility bills by Fine Associates. $174,045.19 is owed by Quadrel These are buildings where tenants have been organizing and formed unions due to unaddressed issues We cannot cut any Regulatory Services Inspector positions in the 2027 budget. Tenants need a way to get some accountability with these landlords taylordahlin.com/f/ward-7-pr…

the all of mpls PAC has received nearly half a million dollars in contributions that have largely gone towards electing anders folk as hennepin county attorney you'll find landlords who support republicans, private equity and investment interests, many pohlads and a rockefeller, and a lawyer who was once suspended from practicing law after employees accused him of sexual harassment

i save the best for last in my All of Mpls blog though - they paid $20k to a New York based company called StreetTalk for those vertical video, man-on-the-street videos for Instagram Reels and Tiktok that don't seem to be getting much return on engagement

toddrick barnette was NOT appointed by governor tim walz in his quest to return to being a judge in hennepin county!
toddrick barnette was among the 3 names sent to governor tim walz seeking to be a judge in hennepin county, his old position before he went to the city of minneapolis to serve as the interim commissioner of community safety. his reappointment to that position was rejected by city council

It's weird and fun to have classic talking points like "too many bosses!" and "there's no plan!" resurface 5 years after this city was supposed to have settled once and for all that the mayor is in charge and the idea of a department of public safety was dangerous/unacceptable.

the new 1st ave street design through stevens square is much smaller and will have a dedicated bike path alongside the sidewalk. you can really see at the 18th st intersection how much the space allotted to cars has shrunk and made it safer for pedestrians
construction is happening 12 hours a day at 1st ave in stevens square for the street reconstruction and new bike path! workers were leaving at 7pm last night and saying they’d be back the next morning at 7:30am. fingers crossed it’s done before snow

The CD3 GOP endorsing Anders Folk is a last-ditch strategy. Folk tried courting GOPers himself but it didn't work. In August the county’s most Republican precincts voted Krenz. The GOP is telling Republican voters to move to Folk, because Republicans are his only path to winning.
