My timeline is full of Americans (plus former Tory MP, now public moron Andrew Bridgen) and cospiracy theories about a plane disintegrating on impact.
The jist is 'I don't understand how this can happen, therefore it didn't happen, and anyone who tells me otherwise is a retard'.
Bizarrely, Justin Timberlake. He and his wife were next to me in Bocca di Lupo and wanted to have a chat about what I had ordered. Had a beer with Liam and Noel Gallagher in 1995. Through work I can add everyone from Shirley Bassey and Maya Jama to Jonah Lomu and Neil Warnock.
Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever spoken to?
Not “seen from far away” — actually talked to, even for a minute.
A quick hello, a handshake, a normal conversation… and you still remember it.
Who was it?
An unfortunate truth in the age of the 24/7 News + doom scroll is how easy it is to become desensitised and feel powerless by events. Leaders become pantomime villains. We don't see the individual human tragedy within the statistics and the headlines.
Ads can still be powerful.
Plumber botched a job this week. I asked him on Wednesday when he could sort it,
'What's the earliest you can be up on Saturday?', Can you do 6.45am?'
Yes, I replied.
'See, you at 6.45am then', he said.
And here I am, still waiting for the bloody plumber.
This is why we do it. She into tears after two minutes as the noise of the first goal startled her. Total yobbo by the time we finished the game. A glorious day out, and seeing her jump up and down and singing along to Hi Ho Silver Lining was the chef's kiss in a perfect day.
So excited about her first visit to Loftus Road that she was in her QPR kit and ready to go at 8.30am. The match starts at 3pm.
(And the day goes downhill by 3.01pm)

This is subjective but … Name three PERFECT movies. No argument. No explanation. Just three flicks you think are perfect. Here's mine:
1. The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp
2. The Cruel Sea
3. The Day of the Jackal
Never knew the Dapne Biggs story but we all knew her. My mum and dad's favourite party song, which became a QPR anthem. They used to always stay at the bed for Hi Ho Silver Lining. It was played at both their funerals in 2022 and 2024. Chokes me up when I hear it now.
💙🤍 EVER WONDERED WHY QPR PLAY HI HO SILVER LINING?
For QPR, this song is about Daphne Biggs.
A much-loved figure in the Rangers family, Daphne loved the song. After her passing, the club began playing it after home victories in her memory.
Now, whenever those familiar opening notes ring out at Loftus Road, they carry a little piece of Daphne with them.
This is what R Connection is all about. The people, the memories we share and the connections that make QPR about so much more than football.
Daphne Biggs. Always remembered. 💙🤍
A big thank you to @MarkofGrove for the suggestion.

Seeing this and reminded how writer and restaurant critic Jonathan Meades described the words 'all the trimmings' as 'the most loathsome phrase in the English language'.
What a list. Surely nobody actually goes to Zurich other than to avoid tax? One of the most dreadfully boring places on earth.
Dublin over any and every city in Spain or Italy?
Buenos Aires may have its issues but THAT is a city.
Fiancée away, daughter away. There was a time, not long ago, for that to be the cue to get a few unsavoury reprobates over to my house for a session.
Today, I've gone to the gym, been drinking mineral water, and am reading a biography on Barbara Cartland.
In the past week I introduced my 6 year old to The Beatles and in doing so rediscovered them. The music was a formative part of my teenage years. Then it became overplayed and familiar.
Seeing her react to songs like I Am The Walrus and Lucy In The Sky brings the wonder back.
Six year old came home from school with a painting she'd done, which she described as 'like Andy Warhol'.
Today, she requested a tune in the car (for a time this was always Shakira, Katy Perry or Taylor Swift) and it was 'I Am The Walrus'.
She is growing up fast.
