This week, PDAC Second Vice President and Health & Safety Committee Chair, Conrad Dix, shared his experiences and PDAC’s perspectives on exploration health and safety at the ISSA Mining Health and Safety Conference in Saskatoon. A key takeaway from the panel discussion was that adaptability remains central to safe exploration. When conditions or work change, it’s important to re-evaluate whether the measures in place to keep the work safe are still effective. For more information and practical resources, visit PDAC’s Exploration Health & Safety Toolkit - pdac.ca/driving-responsible-… - or contribute to industry-wide knowledge by participating in the annual Canadian Mineral Exploration Environment, Health & Safety Survey by Oct. 2.
