grok bot has quietly taken over the boring half of my life:
1) took my mac from 2 gb free to 235 gb
2) cancelled 8 subscriptions i forgot i was paying for
3) tracks every amazon return deadline
4) watches my inbox for packages
5) shortlists homes and checks they're still for sale
6) hands coding tasks to claude code on my mac
in addition, it also learns from its previous interactions and updates bot templates, routines, etc. based on our conversations.

Today I learned that pre-2024 Kia EV6s generally didn’t have the ability to download new software updates OTA. 💀
You had to transfer the software from a USB, then manually download it in the car. Pretty sad.
Tesla still sends OTA updates to 10+ year old Model S&Xs.

my grok bots merged 177 PRs in open source projects this weekend.
the rule that matters most isn't how to merge, it's when to stop. one conflict or one red check and the merge loop halts and tells me what broke.
in most cases I have another bot that is able to unblock it, however, there’s still a few that require manual attention (conflicting features or architecture decisions for example)

the ai code review debate is asking the wrong question. it's not "did a human read every line", it's "which changes need a human".
the claude code team's answer: a classifier sets zero, one or two human approvals by risk, and an agent's approval never counts as a person's 🔍

I have @bot delegate reviews to multiple experts, including other bots and Claude, for diverse feedback and exposure.
leveraging tools like coderabbit and others also plays a huge role in finding bugs and security vulnerabilities.

context length will not even be a topic of conversation in 6 months.
today I still hear people talking about worrying what “pollutes” their model’s context
I’d argue that even with today’s top models this isn’t a problem. There’s so much work that’s gone into automatic compaction and summarization, that in 99% of cases the user shouldn’t have to worry.
think of context length conversations as disk defragmentation on windows. it was a gap in design that leaked into the user experience. it should have never been anything anyone had to worry about.

everyone's calling grok bot their favorite employee. i run about 19 of them, so the one i'd never fire is the manager.
maple is my main bot. i tell it anything and it hands the ask to the bot that already owns it: realtor for houses, inbox for email, returns for amazon deadlines, travel for trips, finance for money questions.
every bot has one job, its own memory and its own routines, so nothing gets mixed up and i only ever have to talk to one 🤖
