I imagine my agents sarcastically implementing my PR feedback that’s really just shuffling papers around. “Oh, fetch_podcast instead of get_podcast? Brilliant. Can’t believe we missed that. SO much more readable now. Humanity has been saved.”
Replying to @rockatanescu
I don't think the model of agents writing code and humans standing in the way to approve it has much of a future. Whatever review and steering happens, it shouldn't really slow agents down. I haven't been doing much Ruby lately. The last substantial PRs I reviewed were weeks ago, and even before that, I'd been spending less and less time reviewing implementation details. I think my recent experiences building things in languages I don't know, like Kotlin and Rust, will only accelerate that trend.

It’s exciting to see how AI is changing development. At @buzzsprout, our small team can now tackle nearly every design wish, right down to the smallest details we love to obsess over. Every little touch and nuance feels within reach. What’s a detail you’ve been excited to finally get right? Checkout the article listing all the features @kfinn made for our editor. Your yearly reminder that @Cloudflare makes enterprise renewals painful by design. They know how hard infrastructure is to move, and they price accordingly. Be very careful how much of yours you let them own!
The @Cloudflare tech is solid. Their enterprise plan is not. Capricious pricing and constant renegotiations with a rotating cast of account managers make me wary of relying on them as a critical part of our infrastructure.

Anyone out there have a contact on the YouTube Podcasts team at Google? @Buzzsprout has been waiting almost two months for an API quota increase so our podcasters can publish more video episodes to YouTube. Would love an intro to someone who can help us get it unstuck. 🙏

I wanted Omarchy without giving up everything I like about macOS. So I built a Mac starter: • Mac-style shortcuts • rounded/frosted UI • AirPods + AirPlay • Magic Mouse + Keyboard/Trackpad One command to install: github.com/johnloringpollard… Let me know how it works for you! Thank you to @GregMolnar for the idea.

Thanks @AmandaBPerino and the whole @rails World team! Yes, we’re dealing with some hard truths. But this is exactly the community I want to be having these conversations with. These are my people, and I’m grateful we get to navigate what comes next together.

If AI lets us stop writing code we don’t need to write, that isn’t abandoning the Rails philosophy. It may be the most Rails thing imaginable. Rails has always been about “look what I’m NOT doing.” Not writing SQL. Not reinventing the wheel. Not building anything unnecessary.

Rails is a framework for thinking before it’s a framework for code.

Avo 4 is here 🎉 15 months, ~2000 commits, and about 50 teams kicking the tires. It's a full redesign, not a fresh coat of paint. A safer way build your internal tools 🧵
