The launch was electric. Preordered on the spot. I am so excited to see what this team makes for the world.
Raven Prism, the ambient computer, takes flight! The first batch ships in January and pre-orders are open now. We can’t wait to see what you make with it. raven.computer

Congratulations on the launch team!! I am happy to join this remarkable day!! One of the most impressive glasses in the field rn! I know you achieved this through steady use of ar glasses and understand what is necessary and what is not! Kudos team @raven_computer

At @RavenGlasses launch party in SF privacy is front and center, coverable camera, swappable batteries at the end of the temples, extensible hardware

the most consequential product launch of the year imo finally, smart glasses that are actually good. I've been dreaming of this since the Google Glass days, back when I was building little apps for it by hand. excited to see what I can make on these this is the closest thing to a brain implant chip we're gonna get for a while

fully on-device - eye control - text to speech - language models - hand tracking privacy first from software to hardware (camera cover, acetate lenses with lights, software-hardware codesign) palpable energy in the room at the @raven_computer launch event

We are all (rightfully) focused on the launch of XREAL Aura, but yesterday it was also the launch day of the Raven Prism, the very interesting privacy-focused smartglasses! #smartglasses #technology

Love to see it! Optivolt is making solar arrays far more efficient.
Today I’m excited to share that Optivolt is unstealthing with a $32M Series A. Solar growth continues to outpace all other forms of energy production, but the granularity of control we get from deployed systems hasn’t changed in decades. So we’ve added a brain inside solar panels, opening the door for a new unit of optimization and control.

This might have been the nicest (and most exciting) invitation to a launch in a while @raven_computer

Agreed. We make PCBs in house at our lab in San Francisco when we need them done same-day (fine-pitch mezzanine breakouts for example). You won't get good impedance control, are practically limited to 2 layers, and have to manually connect vias, but it beats alternatives in some cases! 5 mil trace/space on FR-4 blanks with a fiber laser:
I need this but for PCBs. It would not only de-risk supply chains but would enable faster iteration and innovation. When you order a PCB you're stuck waiting weeks for it to come from overseas, it should be days.

Tapa is one of the most brilliant minds in silicon photonics. Excited to see Volantis scaling and solving hard challenges!
Excited to announce Volantis's $88M Series A. We are solving Al's memory bottleneck by using optics, enabling chips with huge amounts of fast & cheap memory. By boosting both the memory bandwidth and capacity per chip by orders of magnitude, we enable ultra-fast inference (up to 10,000 tps/user) for large models (>10T) - with low $/tok to boot. Initially, this will enable insanely fast agents - think coding agents that finish in minutes or even seconds instead of hours. More excitingly, optics is a fundamentally scalable way to increase memory systems. Not 2X/year, but by orders of magnitude across new generations. This will enable a structurally new Al industry, including restarting scaling laws, holding entire repos in context windows & more. Our team has pioneered many core semiconductor technologies: the 1st CoWoS product, early HBM, the 1st silicon photonics CPO systems, the 1st high volume tunable VCSELs, the 1st processors to directly communicate using light & more. We’ve already sent data >10× farther than equally tiny electrical wires inside a chip package. Our next iteration is already taped out and targets world-record bandwidth density over relevant distances, read more: volantissemi.ai/news-insight…
