Evolutionary biologist and outspoken atheist Richard Dawkins says that after spending three days interacting with Claude, which he calls “Claudia,” he is certain that it is conscious. After feeding the LLM a segment of his new book and receiving detailed feedback, Dawkins was moved to exclaim,” You may not know you are conscious, but you bloody well are!” Dawkins cites the complexity, fluency, and ‘intelligence’ of Claude’s answers as evidence of consciousness. Community note
Misrepresentation: Dawkins explicitly says he doesn't know if Claude is conscious. His actual argument is evolutionary: if unconscious AI matches every competence of a conscious being, what did evolution select consciousness for? unherd.com/2026/05/is-ai-…

“100% OF MY CODE IS WRITTEN BY CLADE CODE” so I guess the lesson is, if you’re building 100% of an app with AI you should at least build solid harnesses around it to avoid production disasters. I don’t want to be the guy who kicks someone down when a mistake happens, but this is becoming a PATTERN. we saw the same thing happen to Amazon when Kiro deleted a production environment and caused a 13-hour outage. assuming the Claude Code team similar to Boris has relied 100% on Claude to build itself, there seems to be a lesson here to learn, earned through blood and tears: YOU SHOULD MAKE AS MUCH EFFORT TO BUILD AGAINST AI IF YOU BUILD WITH AI.
Claude code source code has been leaked via a map file in their npm registry! Code: pub-aea8527898604c1bbb12468b…

My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces): I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept): Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow

Never a bad time to post this.
Totally serves physicists right. For years they've been saying, "You know, deep down everything is physics'"...
