Day 317 #vibejam I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept): Fast, accurate and comprehensive div centering.

This lib will center divs in any container across all libraries going back to IE 0.0001-beta-RC9. Repo coming soon. Once I'm done preparing for my series A. (Copypasta truncated due to lack of blue checkmark, apologies for the quality oversight).

Been reading a lot more code and doing daily code katas to stave off stagnation from using agents at work. Anyone else?

Been digging into a bunch of gamedev ideas recently. Pretty happy with these two. In a lull as I port everything to bevy/rust, but super excited about the future. voxel-sculptor.vercel.app/ void-siege.vercel.app/

Has anyone tried using Sparse Autoencoders for automated ontology induction? Train a task-specific model (such as embeddings), use SAEs to expand its representations and find composite features, then distill that into a taxonomy. The model already learned something valuable.

Especially if you have evals. If you can prove the model is doing something valuable already, it seems like MI could extract the patterns deterministically?

I’m finally going to dig in and start reworking my fretboard visualization app for #guitar. Time to come up with a real name and buy a domain. music-theory-lac.vercel.app/…

It might be immediately useful to anyone using fourths tuning. Speaking of which I came across a great fourths tuning chord book by someone named Keith Bromley. Really wish there were more resources out there. It’s up to us! Blog incoming

Should PKM tooling be more of a protocol instead of a specific app or implementation? Especially since most data sources are text files (or can be abstracted as streams to feel like text files). I feel like this is the future.

I keep wondering, what would a PKM tool look like in @zeddotdev? Especially if it were implemented as a protocol and you could easily build a UX for the same tool inside neovim

There’s a lot that productivity tooling can learn from LSPs and various plugin/extension ecosystems

And his original post about it:
I WROTE A BOOK! It shares my weird story and the lessons I've learned about creativity, authenticity, making money, and succeeding online. It would mean so much to me if you can pre-order as that really helps with store distribution and such! 💖 andrewhuang.com/book

Hey, #vim and #neovim users, what's your feature movement/feature that you couldn't live without? I'm looking to spend a few minutes each day trying to improve my efficiency and get some new stuff under my fingers.
