lately my 4-yr-old has been really into dry, uncooked everything bagels. so this has resulted in him asking us for an "everything bagel with nothing" which is objectively really funny
pointers for 1:
- any kind of nervous system down-regulation work (yin yoga, breath work with longer out breaths, yoga nidra, emotional fluidity work)
- metta meditation, any embodied meditation style
- Gendlin Focusing, IFS, Core Transformation
for many years I held the belief that to βcommitβ to something is to never have doubts about it. I am now realizing that commitment is about committing to _both_ the thing _and_ the inevitable experiences of doubt you will have about the thing
Nancy Pelosi, who is regularly hammered for her perceived insider trading, has made 213 total trades since 2014. Trump exceeded that number in a single day, which just happened to precede his own tariffs announcement.Β My latest on the mind boggling self-enrichment:
a meditation teacher I talked to once said that they no longer talk about the very edge of their work with others, because they found that every time they did this it would jinx their progress. I think this is a great strategy and I want to commit to it more and more. there is such a strong temptation to boast about your mystical experiences and your practice and your progress, especially in a community like ours where that kind of thing is celebrated. it's good to celebrate this stuff, but, depending on your psychological makeup, that celebration and adulation can become the doorway to even more subtle ego
as someone with a long driving commute this is ~correct but itβs quite possible to spend the time sending metta or doing some awareness practices which feels quite nice
Reminder not having a long commute is one of the biggest life upgrades. You never normalize against this, like you would a very good or very bad event (the commuting paradox, described in the Scandinavian Journal of Economics). Moving closer to work or going remote is worth it
