🇸🇦🇧🇩 Saudi Arabia executed two Bangladeshi nationals, Nazrul Islam Abdul Basir and Siti Akhtar, for what authorities called an “immoral” or “indecent act” inside a mosque in Mecca. The Interior Ministry said a court handed down the death sentences under ta’zir, which allows judges broad discretion where fixed penalties do not exist. The court deemed the sentence "appropriate" because of the "severity of violating a holy site." The verdicts were upheld and finalized by royal order. Viral claims online said the couple were newlyweds executed for a forehead kiss. Other posts claimed they were caught in an explicit sexual act. The ministry has not publicly disclosed the exact nature of the act, the specific mosque, or the evidence used. Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said neither its embassy nor its consulate received advance notification of the executions.

🇫🇷 In Paris, looters ransacked and wrecked the headquarters of the well-known French esports club Team Vitality, known as V.Hive. Rioters smashed the glass windows and storefronts of the complex on Sevastopol Boulevard. Some property, including branded gaming chairs, was dragged outside and burned. Computer equipment was completely stripped from the office and training base. Social media showed looters pulling expensive components, including RAM sticks, out of PCs right on the asphalt. The thieves also took the organization’s championship trophies. Among them was the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 Counter-Strike 2 cup that the team had won just a month earlier, in September. Videos later appeared of rioters showing off the stolen trophy on the streets.

Prominent pro-Palestine and climate activist Greta Thunberg voiced her support for French students protesting across France. “I’m incredibly proud of the French students. Young people all over the world, especially in France, are leading by example… What do you expect young people to do? Of course we are going to revolt,” Thunberg said. “Politicians are meeting it as if it’s something unexpected or as if young people are destroying things, which just shows they are living in a completely different reality,” she added. Shortly after she said this, the protests turned violent, with widespread rioting and looting taking place across the country. Historic buildings, such as Limoges Town Hall, were set alight. The violence has now even spread to other countries, such as Italy, where second- and third-generation migrants are engaging in violent clashes with police.
