#GPUs are among the most expensive resources in infrastructure, yet production workloads leave most reserved capacity unused.
#MIG gives strong isolation but fixed profiles. Software fractioning adds flexibility. But neither decides how a #GPU should be shared right now.
According to Pini Ben-Nahum of @zesty_co, the missing piece is the decision engine.

What happens when a #virtualization project stalls? @rackngo's CEO shares how fixing the #baremetal layer changed everything for one fast-growing company replacing its virtualization stack with #OpenShift. 🚀
The turning point? Executive buy-in to hit the brakes, rethink the approach, and build on a solid bare metal foundation. Now that same company is applying the pattern to its Rancher infrastructure.

As part of the research into selecting a VMware alternative, IT must consider the new platform’s ability to move the organization off the old one. Before comparing migration capabilities, though, IT should establish best practices for the move, then see which potential VMware replacement helps it meet them.
Each of the seven practices in this article doubles as a test for the migration function of any platform on your short list.

A GPU slice and a full #GPU both count as "1 device" in your quota. Is that fair?
#Kubernetes 1.37 standardizes how devices get allocated. It doesn’t settle quota, tenant isolation, fair share, or chargeback. Those are still your call.

For a large share of businesses, 2027 is the year their phone system moves to IP whether they planned it or not.
That migration is overdue, and on paper it is good news. In practice, how a business moves matters more than the fact that it moves. Here is where Michael Pinchas of Telecom Experts expects the market to go.

#Flink on #Kubernetes is easy for one job. Dozens? Different story.
Michael Sparre of @grepr_ai shares 4 practices for running stateful streaming at scale:
→ Wrap the operator in a control layer
→ Make every change a safe restart
→ Scale on busy time, not CPU
→ Size resources for how jobs scale

2027 #Predictions: AI Safety Tests Will Have to Survive an Argument
Mark Johnson, Founder, Rowset bets on the type of tests people will be running in 2027, and where he thinks #AI evaluation is headed.
"AI keeps getting better at the first answer. In 2027, I think we'll finally start grading the conversation that comes after it."

For most of the past decade, the infrastructure question has been framed as a choice: stay in the public cloud or leave it. That framing is breaking down. The companies making the best decisions today are looking hard at which part of their usage runs every hour of every day, and asking whether they are paying cloud prices for capacity they could rent or own for less.
In 2027, several forces arrive at once to put that question on more agendas: a hard deadline in European law, a power market with almost nothing left to lease, a memory shortage, and a steady run of #VMware renewals.
Here is where James Mercer of Metro Colo Advisory expects it to go.

“AI-powered” identity security promised relief from alert fatigue. But what most vendors have shipped is behavioral analytics, or models that rank a sign-in’s risk. That ranking work stops well short of resolving the case.
