Always side eye 👀 corporate warriors performing. Eh! They not like us fr. But reality is their act is hailed, rewarded. Related, it is quite unnerving to see corporate happen (or be reawakened?) in folk. Capitalism will always have foot soldiers. Hence its longevity.

Map reminded me of a trip up North. Another world. Kenya ingine. Eye-opener. I have been to Dukana. Then upwards on that border line to Sabarei, Buluk, Illeret. And crossed over to Ari for coffee and injera. Map doesn't quite capture actual distances. Marsabit is HUGE!
More than 10,000 Ethiopians have fled into Kenya as of Saturday, October 24, and are being sheltered in makeshift camps across Moyale town, Red Cross says.

This! 🎯 Succinctly put. Related, my tweets are musings and a monologue.
People ask me why I write. I write to unpack a thought, and finish it…. to clear my head for the next flood of contemplations— which will also need some arranging…in writing.

Shockingly wrong column on Junior Starlets. Almost thought it's parody. Eh! In journalism class you are told while a doctor buries their mistake, a journalist publishes theirs. So you must be keen. Also, best to never comment on performance before competition ends. #FootballKE

Masterclass which has generated endless debate and think pieces on here has finally, predictably landed on Nonsense FM. Lowbrow topics are a stronghold for Kenyans. Sigh.

So bright and sunshiny 7am feels almost like midday. Dunno much science but have a good memory. Sunday of Concours used to be first rains. Floodies was on a muddy pitch. October weddings were rainy. Now October is competing with January sun? Eh!

I think there’s an amazing opportunity for storytelling,@StanChartKE, you just need to connect the dots… look at 1.The Runner 2. The beneficiary & the impact …..connect the stories & the cause becomes easier to advocate for……

You’re deep in the estate renovating a bathroom and adding some tiles here and there, out of nowhere kanjo wako kwa gate knocking. Yet somehow they missed a whole ghorofa being built without any approvals.

The number of children attending public primary and secondary schools has doubled since 2003 (7 million to 14 million). The infrastructure has by and large remained the same. That it is not a big agenda item in all these years is a failure of the adults (politicos and voters).

Kenya has officially secured access to the Chinese market for dried chillies, opening a new export opportunity for local farmers and traders. Now, before any exports begin, businesses must register their facilities and meet China’s food safety and plant health requirements

I need journalists to get back to analysis. It's not enough to report the loss. Give us reasons why this could be happening and map out different scenarios. Is it poor org leadership, or is it taxes and manufacturing costs? Lift the veil and take us on an analytical journey
L'Oreal East Africa, which markets and distributes personal care and beauty products such as Garnier, Maybelline, L'Oreal Paris etc, made a loss of Sh747.8m (€4.99m) in the last financial year according to disclosures made by its parent firm, L'Oreal. This is a wider loss compared to the loss of Sh116.3m (€775,570) it made in the prior year. [Sources on the next post]

Do you know about Standard Chartered Foundation? And Futuremakers? They benefit the last from the proceeds. There is a Stanchart foundation logo on the back of this year's tshirt

Should run a Medal Monday campaign where all race finishers don their medals the Monday after the race with pride.
Hatujapumuwa leo 🤣. Medals everywhere. And stories kibao about how races unfolded. A unifying thing in a fragmented world. Nice scenes. Perhaps Stanchart marathon should have post race wear for runners to don on the Monday after 😂

Surprised but also not surprised this is a thing. Ujanja mentality that's the norm now for Kenyans is everywhere. Sad.
Let's also talk about cheating in races we've signed up to, as normies. We have to examine our own behavior too.

Previously Stanchart Marathon was very clear and loud as to reason for the running. Raising funds for The Seeing is Believing initiative. In 2026, the reason for running is not clear (to me). Reckon runners would be happy to shout about the cause they are supporting 🤷‍♂
Someone who served doping ban won 2026 Stanchart Nairobi Marathon. Poor optics especially given Peres. Sigh. (I'm pro lifetime ban for dope cheats) Is Stanchart still about running for sight? Is core message still visible amid social media fueled FOMO running, walking? 👀
