Today I interviewed @NHLFlames "Trumpet Guy", Rapper, sobriety and mental health advocate Jayme Minor. I figured it was a good day to wear my @MapleLeafs jersey for this one. We met in 2010 when I was very intoxicated asking if I could play a song on his trumpet😂😂

I just had an incredible chat with Iannique Renaud, a former pro hockey enforcer who has an amazing story. Decades of excellence in the ring and as a promoter still bringing the heat. One of my favourite wrestlers who also just passed 3,288 days sober. CONGRATS JEFF!!!

PLEASE READ THIS. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE FIGHTING A BATTLE YOU DON'T THINK YOU CAN WIN. ❤️ I'm posting this in case someone reads this that's me in 2010 with dark thoughts about putting their plan in place. In 2010, I used to live on the 14th floor of this building in downtown Calgary. One night, I had come home from a night of 7-8 pitchers of beer and was just standing on my balcony looking down at the traffic. I was single, alone, and struggling with my mental health. I looked down and thought to myself, "Would anyone even give a sh*t if I leaped off here?" Thankfully, I didn't, but it was after that I started to look into getting help. Two years after that, I became a dad; five years after that, I set out on my mission to lose 100lbs, which I succeeded in doing. On my 51st birthday, I made it four without being intoxicated and down 188lbs in total. When I look at my life now, having published two inspirational children's books and hosting a podcast for over a year featuring others stories of overcoming things, writing a new children's book for families struggling with addiction with my love @Amandapanchuk82 I am so proud. I used to wonder a lot why my life was spared in 1994, but it's very clear now. If you're out there struggling, reach out to someone, talk to anyone, and remember you're not alone. I have shared parts of this story a few times before, and once I captioned it with "I have never shared this moment of weakness before." @heylandsberg replied and said, "That wasn't a moment of weakness; that was one of the greatest moments of strength you've ever had." Sometimes I still go and look up this address on Google maps and just think about how far I've come. That has stuck with me ever since. I hope this post inspires someone out there to get help or reach out to someone it is worth it. Please, if you're that person, don't suffer in silence. Reach out. Let someone stand beside you until you can see a little light again. You may not see the reason to keep going today. But one day, you might look back and be so thankful that you did. ❤️
