Highly practical ESTRO guidelines. Re-RT for locally recurrent rectal cancer should no longer be the "exception."
W thoughtful planning, re-RT (often 30–40 Gy BID, w SBRT in select cases) can safely 1) improve resectability, 2) definitively tx or 3) palliate symptoms. @OncoAlert

#CURiEAlert 🩺
Small-cell carcinoma of the bladder is rare and aggressive, often spreading early and carrying a poor prognosis.
A new CURiE case report follows an 82-year-old patient whose treatment became increasingly complex after a necrotizing perineal infection, multiple surgeries and a prolonged delay in therapy. During his recovery, clinicians then discovered a second malignancy: a very high-risk prostate adenocarcinoma.
Read “Small-Cell Carcinoma of the Bladder With Concurrent High-Grade Prostate Cancer: A Case Report and Review of the Literature” by ACRO members Dr. Veronia Fahmy and Dr. James S. Welsh, with colleagues Dr. Anna Huynh and Dr. Alec M. Block: cureus.com/articles/502342-s…
