Pure clickbait. Penix has shown tremendous promise, but he still has a lot to prove before commanding that kind of deal, starting with his ability to stay healthy and on the field. He’s only in Year 3 of his rookie contract. The Falcons can exercise his fifth-year option and potentially use the franchise tag in Year 6. Atlanta could realistically take its time and delay extension talks for another three years.
PROJECTION: #Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. is projected to sign a 4-year, $200 MILLION contract extension when eligible this offseason. That would be an average annual value of $50 MILLION per year. Penix, 26, could be in line for one of the biggest quarterback contracts in #NFL history.

If Atlanta wins on Sunday, their playoff probability increases by 31 percentage points.

Kyle Pitts has put up impressive numbers against Tampa Bay over his last four matchups, averaging: -8.25 targets -7.25 receptions -101 receiving yards -1.25 TDs Pitts has scored a TD in three consecutive games this season. The last Falcons TE to score a TD in four straight games was his current teammate Austin Hooper in 2019.

100% from Falcons GM Ian Cunningham glazing his boy Poles. Simmons will for sure bolster that DL, but two firsts is an insane price tag.
Text from an NFC GM: “Respect to the Bears for doing that. That offense with this defense now makes them a Super Bowl roster for this year and for years to come without a doubt.”

I love Simmons, but that’s a HEFTY price tag for a DT turning 30 next year. They could’ve extended Dexter for free. Bears FO really missing Ian Cunningham right now.
Sources: The Titans will receive 2 first round picks and a 4th in return for Jeffery Simmons. A haul!

Absolute steal for Seattle. The reigning SB champions just got a major upgrade for their OL.
Compensation update; The Seahawks are sending a 2027 third-round pick and 2028 fifth-round round pick to the Colts in exchange for Quenton Nelson.

Jordan Watkins had two crucial plays where he failed to complete the catch process, including one that easily could’ve been a TD. That said, I agree there’s definitely potential with Watkins.
Kyle Shanahan on Jordan Watkins performance today: “I thought he had stepped up and made some big plays. He’s been playing really well these past 3 weeks.” Jordan was one of the few bright spots from today’s game

After staying in Atlanta for most of October, the Falcons are going to have a tougher schedule in November. -Week 8: at TB -Week 9: vs CIN (Madrid) -Week 10: vs KC -Week 11: BYE -Week 12: at MIN Concerning pattern for Penix on short weeks / international travel👇👇👇
Hear me out. There’s a concerning pattern with Michael Penix Jr. when the Falcons face short weeks or unfavorable travel logistics…. -2025 Week 3: Dominate Minnesota on SNF → Travel to Carolina → Shut out 30-0. Penix has his worst game as a pro. -2025 Week 6: Dominate Buffalo on MNF → Travel to SF for SNF → Lose 20-10. Penix injured, misses next game. -2025 Week 11: OT loss to Indy in Germany → Fly back to Atlanta to face Carolina → Penix tears his ACL in the 2nd half, out for the season. • 2026 Week 5: Dominate New Orleans on MNF → Host Baltimore on SNF → OT loss. Penix injured, can’t finish.

Notable players drafted by Falcons that were coached by current Oklahoma HC Brent Venables. Clemson 2012-2021 - Vic Beasley (2015) - Grady Jarrett (2015) - AJT (2020) Oklahoma 2022-current - Billy Bowman (2025) - Kendal Daniels (2026) Keep hitting that well!

Michael Penix and Drew Lock don’t belong in the same conversation. Lock has a career TD to INT ratio of 1.4:1. Penix is currently at 3:1. He did great filling in for Sam for a couple of games, but aside from there is absolutely no argument of favoring him over Penix.

With today’s win, the Falcons improve to 16–3 (84.2%) when wearing their red throwback helmets since reintroducing them in 2009. (H/t: @tori_mcelhaney )
