We lost a giant of modern finance today. I feel fortunate to have known @VicNiederhoffer, to have learned from him, and to have been inspired by his example. A finance scholar, trader, world-champion squash player, and endlessly curious intellectual, he was as generous and kind as he was brilliant. He will be deeply missed. RIP

Honored to have co-authored with @DrStanleyCrooke---one of the pioneers of ASOs, and an even bigger pioneer of how to help nano-rare patients via n-Lorem. We have to do better on behalf these patients and there are several business models for doing so.

Dave Schmittlein led @MITSloan for 17 years, transforming us from a niche player to a top-5 management school. He did so by always putting faculty, staff, and students first—never took the limelight, even though he was a star. Smart, funny, and wise, he inspires us. RIP
MIT Sloan’s former dean, David Schmittlein, has passed away after an extended illness.
Not only was he an incredible leader, but he was also a mentor, a teacher, and a friend who brought the school to new heights during his 17-year tenure.
We will miss him very much.

My heart goes out to all who lost people and/or homes in the recent LA fires. In the midst of this pain, you'll need to file insurance claims. This may help: piped.video/watch?v=RMLjzNSt… Huge loss makes it tough to make good choices; pls check with a friend before big decisions!

Can't fully express how excited my colleagues and I are to be welcoming Rick Locke back home to @MITSloan as our new dean!! Although he has an extremely tough act to follow---given Dave Schmittlein's transformative 17-year run---Rick served under Dave as deputy dean, then provost at Brown, and now dean of Apple University. So fortunate to have recruited this extraordinary leader!
We are pleased to share the exciting news that @MIT has appointed Rick Locke, PhD ’89, as the next John C Head III Dean of the @MITSloan School of Management.
We are excited for this new chapter at MIT Sloan, and hope you'll join us in celebrating this moment.

Yes, check out the videos of the 2023 MIT conference celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Black-Scholes/Merton publications at the @mitlfe channel piped.video/@mitlaboratoryfo… (and check out my closing remarks for a surprise gift to Merton and Scholes).
I’d love to learn more about the mathematical modelling behind it, the choice and reasoning for the differential equations. Any MIT courses that would cover these?

Ed Roberts was an extraordinary scholar who created the academic field of entrepreneurship, and put his theories into practice with great success. But he also helped so many scholars in other fields, including me. His support and encouragement while I was a junior faculty changed my career path; any success I may have achieved in my research/teaching/practice is due, in part, to his kindness and mentorship. RIP
One of the entrepreneurial pillars at @MIT has left us, but his legacy lives on at @EshipMIT and @MITSloan. Students and faculty alike will remember his unwavering commitment to startups and growth at MIT. RIP, Ed Roberts.
