I notice that none of those studies are saline placebo controlled RCTs that anti-vaxxers insist are the only form of evidence when it suits them.
RFK Jr. says critical research on vaccines is FINALLY being done under his leadership. No matter the controversy or what the research finds, the results will be published and the evidence followed wherever it leads. “CDC researchers are using the VSD to compare healthcare outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts.” “They’re studying aluminum adjuvant exposures, the timing of the hepatitis B vaccine in infancy, comparisons between live and non-live vaccines, and influenza, COVID, and HPV vaccines in children.” “Using Medicaid and linked real-world data, we’re studying vaccination during pregnancy and subsequent childhood outcomes.” “And we’re looking at neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorder, autoimmune diseases, and mortality.” “These are the questions we should be asking, and we will have answers soon.” “Do the studies, publish the results, follow the evidence wherever it leads.” “And that’s how we Make America Healthy Again.” @MAHA_Institute

MedPAC exists to provide Congress independent, nonpartisan technical advice. Congress prescribing a particular analysis for it to produce is troubling, especially when the practical effect is to require estimates that are mechanically more favorable to MA insurers. (1/3)
MedPAC has consistently reported overpayments in Medicare Advantage. Health insurance companies want to kneecap how MedPAC reports these overpayments. Now, insurers have allies in Congress: Republicans, @john_wilkerson reports. statnews.com/2026/09/16/medi…

More analysis like this could help inform debates about surprise billing arbitration. If insurers or providers change their offers, do outcomes differ? By how much? That would help distinguish competing theories. (If I was an insurer I'd experiment and see what happens)

ICYMI: CMS is taking real steps to move Medicare away from using industry-supplied survey data to price services. More objective data should improve payment rates for primary care and help close the massive income gap between specialists and PCPs that is driving our PCP shortage
The AMA owns the codes Medicare uses to pay doctors and runs the committee that sets what those codes are worth. @CMSGov now calls it an "obvious conflict of interest." Yesterday, we filed our comment asking CMS to unwind that capture and cut its reliance on organized medicine.

Butterfly populations across the United States are in alarming decline, according to a 2025 study in Science, with total abundance falling by 22% in just 20 years. Such widespread and worrisome losses portend broader environmental threats and emphasize the urgent need for conservation action. “Our national-scale findings paint the most complete—and concerning—picture of the status of butterflies across the country in the early 21st century,” write the authors. The authors also note that butterflies have the potential for rapid recovery under favorable conditions, highlighting the importance of proactive conservation strategies to prevent further declines and to support long-term population stability. Learn more on #NationalWildlifeDay: scim.ag/3FaRKdU
