"There are several ways to hate sports journalism; one is to dislike it, the other is to read a Jake Welch article."

Welcome visitors, to LaVell Edwards Stadium. It's our little slice of college football heaven, or for a few hours, your own personal hell. Either way, if you're here you're dead.

BYU opponents win by shortening the game, grinding clock / limiting possessions, in the same way we beat Notre Dame.

We deserved to lose. We can also call out JoJo Phillips getting tackled on that third down play. Love by the no call, die by the no call.

Huge win for BYU CB commit @RyanWooten_27 and St Peters Prep as they take down #1 Don Bosco.
Bradley Abraham hits the walk off field goal as time expires. St. Peter’s Prep upsets No. 1 Don Bosco 13-10.

Shoutout to all the dads out there who have embraced this @MonsterEnergy lifestyle (drinking 3 cans of white monster to stay alive after your kids kept you up until 4:14am).

Maybe, just maybe, having our athletic director play in the Crew Cup with important sports figures and owners was a good idea.

Nine years ago, Kalani Sitake was brought nearly to tears when almost no fans showed up for his weekly football show amidst a seven-game losing streak. Now, BYU football is No. 2 in the country. What a story. (h/t @BYUAllBlue, @olyjake3)

Kalani isn’t crying because no fans showed up for his weekly show. He’s crying because the audience that attended that night was his family, close friends, and his own players. It states this directly in this video itself. x.com/byuallblue/sta…

Thinking about Kalani's journey as head coach and I'll always remember this moment in 2017. BYU had lost 7 straight and things looked bleak. He showed up to the coaches show to see players & family filling in the likely empty seats. It's always been about his love for this team.

As one of the three BYU / Rutgers fans in the history of the world, I was glad to see the Cougars expose Chris Ash for the fraudster that he is.
This has got to kill Marcus Freeman. Saw a bunch of this last year during the first two-and-a-half games of the season. Defense can't get lined up. Felt like the Irish had matured out of this kind of thing.

I know for a fact these numbers are wrong. They’re mathematically impossible. I personally know two donors whose contributions alone would put us at double the reported spend. And that doesn’t even include the likely 20–30 others who contribute big dollars each year. Whoever told you this either lied or is spreading a false, negative narrative. Our athletics have never been in a better spot. Why is someone pushing this message right now? 🤔 It takes a village and everyone has the same goal. Let’s all push in the same direction together! Go Cougs! 💙💙💙
Remember when Kalani was frustrated about resources? Word on the street is that Kalani had verbal commitments from 2 Ohio State receivers and a Tennessee lineman. But when they went to check the funds, Brian Santiago had moved $8 million from football to basketball without informing the program. As a result, they weren't able to pay the recruits what they thought they could and lost them. During the last transfer portal, Ohio St lost six wide receivers including 4 and 5⭐ recruits, and Tennessee lost six OLinemen. It's very likely that, without Brian Santiago, those players would have been playing for BYU this year.

Just as we all suspected, the Big 12 had more teams ranked in the top ten than the SEC.
Not a single team stayed put in this week’s AP Top 25. Miami is No. 1 for the first time since 2002 and BYU climbs to No. 2 after a historic weekend of upsets. See where your team landed: apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-col…

There's been a lot of bellyaching about our athletic director (and his connection to local billionaires) but it looks like we got this home-and-home series with Notre Dame thanks to him. Love him or hate him, Santiago delivered.
BYU tried to get Notre Dame on campus for 15 years, but kept getting left at the altar. I went inside the unbelievable story of how a Pop Tarts Bowl snub helped set up a program-defining moment in Provo. “Maybe there was a little divine intervention.” cbssports.com/college-footba…

You know who won't be the GameDay guest picker? Any of my fellow graduates from the BYU theater program. Tip of the cap to anyone who knows all four of these grads.
