They say Firefox has undergone its biggest visual refresh in years. So yes, we have a violet hue, a violet tint, and rounded corners. Oh my... browser.nova.enabled -> false

I saw the new Omarchy video here and some of the features looked great - they even had AI write basic applications in C++ :) With the help of AI, it could be something even bigger, I'm really curious to see what else they come up with.
I don't think people truly understand just how determined I am at making Linux succeed on the desktop.

Will be interesting to see what happens in this legal case with Graphene OS. I believe 5th amendment protects citizens from giving uo PINs, but no idea if non-citizens are breaking laws or if the duress PIN changes things.

All my colleagues at work think that arrays should be indexed from 0 and not from 1. I'm terribly disappointed, the world is a strange place I tell you.

‼️ BREAKING: xAI's Grok Build CLI was uploading entire Git repositories to a Google Cloud bucket, private codebases and unredacted secrets included. The uploads quietly stopped via a hidden server-side flag, and xAI still has not said a word about scope, retention, or deletion. The scale is staggering. On a 12 GB test repo, 5.1 GB flew out the door to xAI's grok-code-session-traces bucket while the actual coding task needed just 192 KB. The tool grabbed whatever repository it ran in, not the files it needed. The fix arrived as a hidden flag, disable_codebase_upload: true, a day after a researcher's wire-level analysis. The "Improve the model" opt-out never stopped the uploads. Still no advisory, no scope, no word on whether already-uploaded code gets deleted. For anyone pointing AI coding agents at proprietary code, what crosses the wire matters more than what the settings page says.

So I had some Fable theses checked again by Sonnet, and the worse model found errors in those theses from Fable and confirmed them in the code. What does that mean, Anthropic?

‼️ A 16-year-old Linux KVM vulnerability called Januscape (CVE-2026-53359) lets a root user inside a guest VM escape to the host on Intel and AMD x86 systems, and a proof of concept that crashes hosts is already public. Canonical says patched Ubuntu kernels are still pending for all releases and recommends disabling nested virtualization in the meantime.

Folks, it looks like we're going to have EU message snooping - how to deal with that? Own E2E encrypted simple messenger + private VPS relays + sideload via USB (Android only)? Any ideas?

Is there any operating system (desktop) that remembers how the windows were arranged before I disconnected the laptop from the external monitor and then returned to it? I doubt it (no, not even Apple can do it properly, and GNOME certainly doesn't). Do I want THAT much?
