Ridiculously bad idea! Young people are facing an employment crisis and this will simply make it worse.

Even astrophysicist Chanda Prescod-Weinstein has asserted that the claim by the Byline Times that Jason Arday has been “cleared” of plagiarism charges by a major journal is false.
This supposed “clearing” of Jason Arday for plagiarism is based on the fact that a single scientific journal decided not to retract a paper of his or take any further action such as issuing a correction. The journal did not come out with a statement saying they had “cleared” him. Nor did they asses all the papers of his that show evidence of fraud or plagiarism. They apparently took yet another look at a paper to which they had already attached a correction. But because the Byline Times is wedded to the narrative of claiming Arday was never at fault for anything, and because so is Bluesky, the claim flies unquestioned. Somehow these arguments never acknowledge that there is strong evidence that Arday stole another academic’s data and presented it as his own, which would be fraud.

Canada’s healthcare system is a source of pride. But that pride is increasingly founded on popular culture and nostalgia, not reality. The data is consistent: Canada spends, but does not achieve. Ranking near the bottom of OECD countries on wait times, availability of doctors, number of MRI, CT, and PET scanners—that is not something I am proud of. Restoring our healthcare system as a cornerstone of Canada’s national pride requires innovative solutions, not defaulting to what we’ve been doing for years—the data shows emphatically that it is not working.

The RCMP’s Tactical Training Section works year-round to keep frontline members ready for the challenges they may face on duty. For approximately six months each year, instructors deliver mandatory firearms recertification training.

🏥 Hospital consultants have announced a two day strike from 25 November. Public sector regular pay is growing at 6.3%. For the private sector taxpayers funding those wages, it’s 3.0%. Our Chief Economist @doktor_val 👇

The judgement of Sir Robin Spencer, the single judge who refused Lucy Letby's first leave to appeal, has not been made public. I'm being stonewalled by the Court of Appeal who are bizarrely trying to claim the judgement is confidential.

It appears that Dr Evans believed he was acting for the Prosecution? Whereas the @gmcuk states Expert Witnesses are there for the Court, for Fair Justice, whoever pays them. Dr Evans worked for the Cheshire Police for years, presumably for a considerable daily fee?

"That's the debt trap" @eurobriefing tells @freddiesayers that France faces a massive debt rollover next year; as rising interest rates drive up servicing costs past vital budgets, governments must issue even more debt to cover past borrowing, triggering a dangerous debt trap.

Safety in numbers: John Gibbs said #luctletby was wrong, it wasn’t a Gang of Four, it was a Gang of Seven that suspected her of murder. Stephen Brearey said the Gang of Seven created strength to take on the managers. But was ganging up on her strength or cowardice?

This is abject evil. We can have a secure border without having this. I think even most people who voted for Trump didn't understand that they were voting for this, though they should have given his rhetoric.
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him. Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

One baby's insulin result from August 2015 was never checked a second way, and the sample is gone. It frames the rest of the Letby case. Here's why it matters, where the science stands, the part that goes against her, and how it could still be answered.

Why one result from August 2015 shapes how the rest of the Letby case is read Most people think the Letby case rests on a mountain of evidence. In one sense it does. The trial ran from October 2022 to
