For some good months now, I have been speaking with different people especially those living near garbage dump sites majorly in Kampala, and their stories are not far from different.
Their stories show that plastic pollution is mostly caused by irresponsible garbage disposal, facilitated by lack of effective policies to end plastic production and environmental illiteracy. As the population grows in Kampala, irresponsible disposal rapidly increases thus affecting people’s health, livelihoods and largely the environment.
The only way to end plastic pollution is to do away with plastic manufacturing, use, and treat those who use it as terrorists.📌💯
