Title is a meta commentary on how bad Sam is at detecting bloviating wannabe gurus as long as they share his anti-woke views. We covered Jimmy on the show recently and he’s going for a budget Jordan Peterson thing.

I think the problem here is the Fundamental Problem of Podcasts: Jon Stewart needs a guest every single week, and Ed Zitron is on the list of ‘people who go on left wing podcasts.’ One of the things that gets people on this list is being an overconfident blowhard
“Is this just a big circle jerk?” Jon welcomes Ed Zitron (@edzitron), host of the podcast Better Offline, to make sense of the financial house of cards propping up AI and big tech. New pod out now!

The real dissolution of the West.
George Galloway: "I think Tucker Carlson should be the President of the United States. It's just my good luck he thinks I should be the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. What a double act that would be."

Tucker Carlson explains that the Incas had technology more advanced than modern lasers—because a modern laser couldn't possibly cut stones like that. He knows this because he's been to Peru, and he loves stone masonry. "It's just a fact, a demonstrable fact, inarguable." So where are the Incas now? He concludes that, like other civilizations, they destroyed themselves with their technology. (An archaeologist reproduced the cuts 40 years ago by hitting rocks with other rocks.)

When I think of how many Americans Russia has kidnapped, imprisoned, subjected to nightmarish conditions, just so Putin can have some additional leverage against us, the first word that comes to mind is HUMANITARIAN.
us special envoy steve witkoff to president putin: “you talk so much about my president, president trump, being a humanitarian. you are a humanitarian also, sir, and i salute that.” truly hard to watch.

From my perspective the greatest challenges are getting EP to recognize the importance of consistently integrating ethnographic evidence and making use of ethnohistorical databases, and the importance of controlling for non-independence in cross-national/cultural comparisons.

Of course he does.
Cenk Uygur thinks there's "validity" to the theory that Israel was behind the Butler, PA alleged assassination attempt on Trump, and that it was meant to be a "warning" to scare Trump into doing what Israel wanted.

Whatever you think of his beliefs (they are bad), if you pay even the slightest bit of attention to him, it's impossible not to notice that he is just a habitual, pathological liar.
Hasan claims he was "incredibly critical of Russia's invasion" and that Russia is as bad as the U.S.

This unhinged and disgraceful crusade against Ukraine is not going to lower energy prices and is not winning the GOP votes in the midterms. Voters aren't stupid: this whole shtick appears more like unilateral concessions to Russia and petty swipes at Ukraine than an actual effort to support Americans hurt by rising energy prices.  This whole episode is an absolutely humiliating disgrace for Trump. No other way to describe.

Ana Kasparian treats the Russian invasion like its a theater performance. She heard a story about Boris Johnson stopping peace and it matched her world view. She keeps running with it despite being long disproven. Giving a fairytale attention instead of countless atrocities.
Ana Kasparian: "Boris Johnson should be prosecuted" While Cenk explains how Musk/Trump enabled Russian strikes on Ukraine, Ana interjects to blame the West: "The West has gotten so many Ukrainians killed [...] They're happy to see innocent people put through the meat grinder."

As we said in the episode where we covered their debate: Figures like Jacob Rees-Mogg like media hungry ‘characters’. That Tucker engaged in Nazi apologetics is just an interesting angle and doesn’t stop Rees-Mogg from having greatly enjoyed his time with such a fun character.
Mr Tucker Carlson is what the Americans call a ‘shock jock’, who says outrageous things to boost his ratings. When I agreed to the interview, I assumed no one in England would watch it as his appeal is focused on his own country. However, his suggestion that we ought to have let Hitler win led to a degree of controversy, so I was asked about him quite a bit at the conference. To meet he is both personable and intelligent, so I enjoyed our conversation before and after filming as well as the interview itself. His views may be rather wild, but I never mind robust debate. I am sure he does it for clicks. It is the temptation of the social media age, as the more controversial the statement, the more views and revenue it generates. Perhaps he ought to use some of the profits to employ a researcher to tell him the size of the UK and Russian economies. ✍️ Jacob Rees-Mogg Article | spectator.com/article/tucker…

Imagine seeing this daily horror and saying that the one who "needs to go" is the leader of the victim country and not the aggressor country. What moral idiocy. What cowardice.
The russians bombed a supermarket in Odesa. Make no mistake. Everyone who wants peace bombs grocery stores, churches, kindergartens and playgrounds. Those who want war bomb the aggressor's war machine. Welcome to 1984.
