Thanks for confirming that despite Afrofrum pouring millions of their supporter's rands into advocating for the ANC to be punished, they failed to move the needle in any meaningful way and have not a single result to show from their multiple trips to the US to raise awareness.

It's so interesting to me that these 'stats' never have a traceable source and only count from 1994 onwards. I don't think you'd struggle to detect corruption with a more rigorous methodology or that past losses to corruption (by value) would be higher than present. Unless...
My friends and I were talking about the upcoming elections over the weekend.
And how incredibly important they are.
We did a bit of Googling and found out that South Africa has lost an estimated R2.1 trillion to corruption and mismanagement since the ANC has been in power.
That's R8 million every hour.
Every. Single. Hour.
Imagine the schools, hospitals, jobs and infrastructure we could have had.
I wrote this and published it on my Facebook. My editor believed that it deserves to be in an article too. It's a long read. And it's incredibly sobering. But also... hopeful.
I received a comment on the original post from a follower who was not going to vote because they believed their vote didn't matter. After reading this, they have decided that there is no choice but to vote.
