Wokingham
I have written to the Prime Minister, along with Lib Dem MPs from across the country including Ed Davey, calling for urgent action to end the Carer's Allowance scandal and to speed up reviews for carers caught up in this injustice. Carers need action now, not years down the line.

For too long, carers have been punished and treated like criminals for earning just pennies over the carers allowance limit. Yesterday’s Budget announcement is a step forward, but waiting until 2030 isn't good enough.

Carers deserve better and need support now, not in four years’ time.

It was an absolute pleasure today to chair the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Breast Cancer's discussion on how we can improve support for people at an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

The APPG brought together MPs, industry experts and those with lived experience have their say on how we can tackle regional variations, inequalities and inconsistent support. Thank you to everyone who joined today's meeting and contributed to such an important discussion.

No I didn’t say that. He grabbed me and shoved me out of the way - I think a colleague said I was sent flying but I wasn’t. It all happened before this clip

For further clarity: This is only now being discussed in public because Farage got caught out not attending the budget. He and Jenrick blamed this incident, in which Farage has upset a female MP by using physical force. We Lib Dems didn’t proactively raise this matter.

Shocked and bloody angry I think... it takes more than that to shake me. I may be a woman, but I'm not the snowflake here.
Exclusive: Nigel Farage's "physical altercation" during the State Opening of Parliament was with the Lib Dem MP Caroline Voaden - and has caused an major row between Reform and the Lib Dems. Lib Dem sources say Voaden was left "shocked and shaken" after he "shoved" her to secure a place in the procession of MPs to the King's Speech. Video from the Commons Chamber that day shows Farage and Voaden making their way down from their benches together. Voaden reported the incident to the Serjeant at Arms and says Farage was asked to apologise - but hasn't. A Reform spokesman denies any wrongdoing by Farage, saying "it was the Lib Dem MPs being aggressive towards Nigel". Lib Dems say that is "utter nonsense" Farage said yesterday that the "physical altercation" was the reason he didn't put up a fight to be in the Chamber for the Budget after his prayer card to save a space was removed. He said he thought that after the row with Voaden, it was "better to avoid conflict". But in a further twist, a Commons spokesman says Farage's card was only removed because it didn't have a date stamp, which are required to reserve a spot. Here’s the @bbcquestiontime clip that triggered the @reformparty_uk “let’s talk about anything but Brexit can we?” approach to debate … even its architects know it has screwed our economy

The OBR shows in black and white that we’ll pay more and more for a broken social care system. On current policy, its share of our national income rises by 50%, while disabled and older people continue to suffer.

2/ The pressure peaks in the 2030s as the baby boom generation reaches their 80s. Doing nothing isn’t a saving. It’s paying more for managed decline.

3/ We need action this Parliament to deliver free personal care and protect people from catastrophic care costs. Families can’t afford to wait, and neither can the public finances.

It was wonderful to join the Autumn Litter Pick this weekend in Swallowfield and to see so many volunteers helping to keep our community looking its best.

Together we covered roads and lanes across the parish, reported six fly-tipping sites and collected valuable data on the litter being discarded. Thank you to Peter and others for organising.

This week in Parliament I hosted the Thames Valley Reception as Chair of the Thames Valley APPG. This event brought together MPs, Lords, business leaders, academia, and local government to discuss how to support our region’s economic interests and policy priorities.

Today is #WearItPink Day. This week I joined @BreastCancerNow and @Wera_Hobhouse in Parliament to raise awareness of breast cancer. Patients deserve earlier diagnosis and better treatment. That's why I'm backing the National Cancer Plan and my Cancer Reporting & Strategy Bill.

It was great to welcome residents from Wokingham to Parliament earlier this week. A key part of my role as your MP is representing our community in Westminster, and these visits are a great opportunity to show local people how this happens. Thank you to everyone who came along.
