This post is obviously for engagement, but I will engage anyway.
Do it in your backyard, blow up your own balloons with some other cheap $1 store decorations, make your own food/cake with some family bringing sides. Your kid won't know the difference.
It’s impossible to have a “reasonable” budget for just about anything at this point.
It’s my youngest daughter’s 1st birthday.
So like any decent parents, we’re throwing her a birthday party.
We are inviting family and friends and with all the little kids running around these days, it totals ~30 people.
Figured we could keep it at or under $500.
Nope.
- Public park pavilion deposit: $100
- Balloons: $100
- Sandwiches and sides: $450
- Beverages: $200
- Plates & Plasticware: $50
- Birthday Cake + Smash Cake: $200
$1,100 out the door for a modest birthday party.
We’re happy to do it and it’s great gathering with friends and family but gone are the days of budget friendly anything.
