I'm sitting through this 3 hour interview to do my due diligence and give him a fair shake... and I'm not really shocked that both of them are completely confused on the relationship between the NSDAP and religion.
Just quickly - the SS in 1937 were 60% Protestant, and about 21% Catholic with about 18.7% as Gottglaubig. Maybe that's where he got the 60% number from. About a year later they had a shift where Catholics grew to 22% and the Gottglaubig had about a 6% increase with 25.7%.
Even close to the war years Mainstream Christians in the SS were 77.1% of the total, down slightly from 80%.
Also, as far as Hitler's government was concerned
"Gottglaubig" was just an administrative title for people who were not part of a denomination to facilitate a separation of Church and State (Which ties into the real meaning of Positive Christianity btw)... People in the SS added their own meaning to it - but it didn't necessarily mean pagan. They didn't even have a real category for paganism.
What he's saying about the leadership is partially true, but also misses the mark heavily. There were many units of the SS that were pro-Christian as well, and the man who actually led the SS on the front were very pro-Christian because they were doing most of the fighting.
Skorzeny talks about the fact that Himmler was removed from what was going on at the front and they were purely "political soldiers", which just means they were hardcore Nationalists who didn't make it an issue. It's also recorded that Himmler's views weren't popular even with the men in the SS.
At any rate, what went on in the SS isn't what went on in the Reich as a whole, as it was a small parallel organization in compared to the actual Army and the government. We also know Himmler was a traitor and Hitler had no idea what he was up to most of the time.
The truth is paganism had retreated to the SS because it was a failure in the Third Reich (Something I've proven and will illustrate clearly this Christmas) and it wasn't very popular their either.
Finally, Positive Christianity has nothing to do with "placing importance on blood and folk", so I'm not sure where he got that from. Maybe he's extrapolating the personal opinions of Rosenberg here, Idk.
Anyway, sometimes remembering historical facts accurately can be dicey when we're on the spot, so I'm not trying to catch him out but I'd love to sit down and set him straight. I think it's something worth getting right when the world has misrepresented it for decades.
Crazy to see how many solid White Nationalist accounts that have previously supported and promoted me coming out now calling me gay and/or jewish, because I went on HT's stream and defended Christian White Nationalists for 2 hours.
Even when you defend them they turn on you.
