Every so often, you meet a team that changes your expectations of what’s possible. Ben, Asher, Aidan, and the team at @flappyairplanes are exactly that. They have brought together a very special group of people (with an average age of 24!) to go after one of the most important challenges in AI: reimagining how machines learn and how we unlock the full potential of our compute. Proud to partner with this exceptional team as they fundamentally change how intelligence gets built.
Hello again, it's been a while. We're writing to let you know that we have raised quite a lot more money. We're letting you know because we are on the lookout to hire smart people and this will help us do that. See you again when we have a product or have raised more money!

Congrats to @spectorb and @amspector100 on the incredible progress. Amazing what you can achieve in AI when you unleash the best people. @breeves08 is one of the best investors out there right now. Welcome to the Flapping Airplanes team!
We’ve spent the past year developing new primitives for GPUs. We believe this enables new algorithms to change how machines learn, open new markets, and dramatically reshape AI’s cost structure. We have raised a $1 billion Series A, co-led by Index and Lux.

Let's go! Congrats @ishangpta and @cambridgemike!
I'm excited to welcome @cambridgemike as our VP of Engineering. Mike joins us after having spent 13 years at @X (Twitter) - where he already made hires using Juicebox! In the last 2 years of scaling our engineering team, we had three main learnings. 1/ Approach every problem from first principles 2/ Small, competent teams can drive outsized outcomes 3/ Great engineers understand product and business goals Mike embodies every single one of these. He is one of the clearest first-principles thinkers I've met. He has run remarkably lean teams at X (Twitter) responsible for some of the world's hardest product and infra challenges. And he did all of this in a high pressure environment that most companies will never see. Having built one of the world's most loved consumer apps, Mike also brings an exceptional level of product intuition. That's especially important as we build agents for a complex workflow like recruiting. Fun fact: he actually used Juicebox Agents to hire for his previous team :) Welcome to the team, Mike! Couldn't be more excited for this next phase of growth.

Today marks a big step forward for @sesame with the rollout of its new voice model. Excited for more people to experience the different assistants available on Sesame and for the glasses launch next year. Let's go!
We’re building all-day optical glasses that will be a bona fide computing device. Invisible, ambient computing, available at your fingertips, that fades away when you’re not using it. Our assistant is designed to be the logical operating system of that device — one that’s voice oriented and as intuitive as talking to a friend.

Congrats to @parisingh on locking down many of the most prominent hardware companies with a visionary product around AI for complex infrastructure. Grateful to invest alongside Valor and Atreides.
Flow has raised a $50M Series B at a $750M valuation, co-led by Antonio Gracias (Valor) and Gavin Baker (Atreides) with Sequoia Capital, Roelof Botha (SpaceX, Block), and more. When I became a mechanical engineer, I wanted to invent. In reality, 90% of the day to day execution work (CAD, excel, sim) was digital manual labour. That’s about to flip. The engineer’s role will change more profoundly than at any point since the invention of CAD, with humans focusing on invention, architecture, tradeoffs and judgement calls, and agents taking the grunt work. Anduril, Joby, Stoke Space, Rivian & many more - Flow is now the default platform for requirements and verification for frontier hardware teams. But it’s not just next-gen anymore. Industry giants including General Motors PPU and Volkswagen & Rivian’s joint venture (RV Tech) are reshaping their core development practices with Flow’s AI. The revolution is just starting. Models are getting better quickly at CAD, analysis, simulation, and tool use. In the next year, AI will move from integrating the work to doing the work. One day, this shift won't just enable us to iterate faster, it will enable us to design a class of products that we could not have dreamt of before. We’re hiring.

I went through new employee onboarding for @clay in early 2025 and frequently go back to chat with new grads. The company culture is stunning, and it's converted into incredible business performance. Congrats @kareemamin and @vxanand on the momentum and customer impact!
Replying to @clay
@Clay just raised a $115M Series D at a $7.1B valuation. Now, more than 17,000 teams build on Clay, including Anthropic, SpaceXAI, Google, OpenAI, Stripe, Visa, UPS — and 80% of the Forbes AI50. @nytimes just broke the news, but the story goes far beyond the raise. AI is unleashing the biggest wave of company creation in history. Clay’s goal is to be the engine they use to grow. Clay is a self-learning revenue engine that figures out the best GTM play for your company, then runs it. We started as the company with the best data about other companies. Then we became the infrastructure to run campaigns across email, ads, and landing pages. Now we’re building agents that learn from every campaign, predict the next best action, and get better each time they run. Software engineers use coding agents to write code. GTM engineers now use growth agents to autonomously grow their companies. In 2023, we introduced GTME as a new role for people creating revenue systems with data, automation, and AI. Two years later, thousands of GTMEs are growing the world's best companies. They are gathering in nearly 100 Clay Clubs around the world, from Bangalore to Boston and Lahore to Lisbon. That’s why we’re proud to launch a $1M scholarship fund, helping more people enter the profession. @Wellington_Mgmt led our Series D, with participation from @sequoia, @stepstonegroup, @a16z Perennial, @MeritechCapital, DST Global, @CapitalG, @BoxGroup, @boldstartvc, @BloombergBeta, and @EvolutionEquity. A gracious thank you goes out to our customers, community, partners, team, and every GTM engineer shaping this with us. We are going to unveil the future of Agentic GTM at SCULPT on October 8. Stay tuned to see how to use AI to grow every company. 🖤🩵❤️💛

Rebuilding the American grid is a prerequisite for AI to achieve its full potential. @FormEnergyInc spent nearly a decade building a fundamentally new battery technology and a US manufacturing base to produce it. @sequoia is investing $100M. I first met @mateojaramill in spring 2020. He shared an ambitious idea: build a new battery technology that could store energy for days, not hours, using two of the cheapest and most abundant inputs imaginable – iron and air. Since then, Form has proved that its batteries can compete with gas and can scale, winning its first big hyperscale contract earlier this year. We believe Form Energy can become America’s battery champion.

Great post from @dan_lahav on the breakthroughs in AI security, which are just beginning. Capability unlock here YTD has been remarkable. We are just starting to see downstream implications.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰𝘆: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴? Frontier AI models had a giant performance gain in coding in the Fall of 2025 Then with cybersecurity in April This is now happening with open-weight models We are optimistic about the long-term But outside of a few players, we believe the world is not ready in the short-term

In Iain Banks' The Player of Games, a civilization chooses its emperor by playing a strategy game. That may be the best metaphor for AI right now: multiple players, one board, and everyone at the table believes the winner controls AGI – whatever that turns out to mean. @DavidCahn6 joined @Kantrowitz on @BigTechnology to discuss: - How each player is playing the board: Anthropic, OpenAI, XAI, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and the rest - Why the $200B question is now the $1.5T question - Why nothing short of AGI justifies the spend - Whether humans will end up worshiping AI and more.

Thanks to @Kantrowitz for having me on the @BigTechPod last Monday. We discussed the strategies of each of the big tech companies, and why I think AI is turning into the greatest strategy game in history, a la StarCraft or Azad.

AI is more like StarCraft than chess. It is a resource allocation game. We are watching grandmasters play on the world stage. Like Azad, the players believe they are chasing the highest stakes of all time.

There is a web of interdependence in AI right now. It is interesting that Chinese open-source is playing such a meaningful intermediary role. Long-term equilibrium has not been reached yet.

I decided to update AI's $600B Question, since it's that time of year. Some napkin math on how AI CapEx has evolved since ChatGPT:
