The NSA just told the entire internet to patch or go dark.
Effective immediately.
Not "please consider updating."
Not "we recommend patching at your earliest convenience."
Patch or unplug.
Those are the options.
The NSA doesn't issue advisories for every vulnerability.
They issue them when something is bad enough that the spy agency whose entire job is breaking into systems is worried about other people breaking into systems.
PHP powers 43 percent of the web.
The NSA just told 43 percent of the web to stop existing until it gets fixed.
Or patch in the next 24 hours and hope the attackers haven't already gotten in.
Most organizations are picking option three.
Taking it offline.
Safer to be unavailable than compromised.
The Dutch Parliament already did it.
Finland's government already did it.
University of Vienna already did it.
Now the NSA makes it official.
"If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated."
Translation: you can't patch fast enough so just shut it down.
Patch takes 30 minutes.
Testing takes hours.
Deployment takes longer.
Meanwhile attackers are already inside.
So the NSA's advice is logical.
If you can't patch in 30 minutes go offline now.
Don't wait for the attacks.
Don't test first.
Don't coordinate with stakeholders.
Just unplug it.
The NSA will follow up with more specific guidance.
Which is intelligence agency speak for we're watching the attack traffic and we'll tell you what else they're doing with the access they already have.

Tonight, France burned. America, you should be watching very carefully.
Today, October 17, 2026, more than half a million people marched across France against the cost of living. By 8pm, around 400 had been arrested. In Paris, police turned water cannons on the crowds at Place de la République, and one march was stopped 150 meters from the Élysée Palace. Of the 195 people arrested in the capital by the afternoon, only one actually lived in Paris. Mobs forced their way into the city halls of Marseille and Lille. In Lyon, a tourism office was set on fire. In Rennes, barricades burned. Near Limoges, a highway was blocked and police cars were torched.
And then came Limoges.
A crowd of very young people stormed the city hall, a protected historic monument built in the 1880s. They flipped police cars in front of it and set them ablaze, then set the building itself on fire. The flames took the roof, the wedding hall, and the civil registry, the office that records every birth, every marriage, every death in the city. Tonight, the bell tower that has crowned Limoges for nearly 150 years collapsed.
The mayor's response: "It's a monument that is burning, not the Republic."
That is the problem in one sentence. Our leaders still think words can put out fires.
None of this came out of nowhere. For twenty years, the French political class has excused everything. Every riot was "anger." Every burned car was a "social symptom." Every attack on police was "a reaction to provocation." And the hard left, La France Insoumise, which officially backed today's mobilization, built its electoral machine on an alliance with political Islamism: refusing to condemn, refusing to name, trading secularism and public order for votes. In France we have a word for it. Islamo-gauchisme. Islamo-leftism.
Tonight you saw where that culture of excuse ends. A country where a mob can burn down a town hall, and the state arrives after the roof has already fallen in.
My dear American friends,
I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. The same activists who refuse to draw a line between legitimate dissent and those who openly despise the West. The same politicians who think tolerance means tolerating everything, including the people who want to burn it down.
It always starts with excuses. Then comes impunity. Then come the flames.
Same causes, same effects. If you create the conditions we created, you will get exactly what we got tonight.
France was the country of the Enlightenment, of cathedrals and town halls that stood for centuries. Tonight, one of them collapsed live on social media while the government called for calm.

Of the 40 residents who attended, only one spoke in favor of mass surveillance.
Doesn’t matter if you’re on the left or the far right—nobody wants to be surveilled in violation of our 4th Amendment rights. You have the power to stop it. Stand up.
Of the 20 Emerald Isle residents who went to the town’s first open discussion on ALPR cameras and a thermal police drone, I was the only one under 65. Luckily, more than 75% voiced opposition to these surveillance tools. The 45 and under generation needs to do better.
Signing a petition or posting online is fine, but showing up and speaking is far more effective. Two more sessions are planned this month before the town brings it back on the agenda.

Its November 2025 immigration blueprint urges policymakers to “enable local governments and private entities to sponsor immigrants directly.” It also proposes state visa programs and “incentivizing new arrivals to stay in specific states and regions.”
Two weeks later, Niskanen published its Migration Match Index, assessing American communities for their capacity to accommodate more immigration.
The report describes places with “aging, stagnant, or insufficient native labor supply.” It weighs factors including job openings, rental vacancies, affordability, unemployment, and age.
The authors explicitly discuss using updated data to plan resettlement following “an influx of asylum seekers at the border.” They also contemplate applications to a future refugee-admissions system.
Niskanen’s own funding disclosure lists $300,000 from Open Society Foundation for immigration work, covering the period when both documents were published. Other donors include the Rockefeller Family Fund and the Pritzker Family Foundation.
The organization already has a record of helping turn private sponsorship into policy.
Its 2025 annual report says it “helped conceive and implement” Welcome Corps, the private refugee-sponsorship program established under Biden.

There is no place for misinformed rumors when considering the health of our Warfighters.

I have close friends who have been reinstated after refusing the mandated COVID vaccines. You stated how they were treated was wrong and allowed them back with back pay, some with additional rank. That’s why I’m writing you.
I’m being told that military members are still facing vaccine requirements, and the new mRNA flu shot is part of the schedule some commands are treating as mandatory. I implore you to stand up for our volunteer warfighters. They are willing to stand against our enemies. They should not be forced to stand against mandated medical products in the name of ideology or “greater good” science.
Throw these products out, or at minimum halt any mandate that regresses basic rights. As a service member I took every shot when I was young because I believed it was for the greater good. As an adult paramedic who has seen the damage firsthand, I’ve grown enough to write this request.
Please stand with and for our soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors, Space Force, and Coast Guard. They already carry enough without being forced into decisions that can affect their health for the rest of their lives.
