This 25-year-old Verser still writes code the old fashion way...
Introducing... VerseBoy! 🎮
A highly accurate Game Boy emulator written in UE6's future programming language, Verse. It runs both standalone (using Python as the display) and right inside Fortnite using #UEFN! 🧵

This is a project I've been really passionate about for a long time! In fact, I made the project for it 3 and a half years ago before realising that I didn't really have the skills for it, nor did UEFN have the capabilities yet...

Check out the codebase here and try it for yourself: github.com/Ep8Script/VerseBo…
(the video is sped up quite a bit, Verse can be slow 😭 but it's not as bad as you'd think!)

If you did it with AI, you didn't make art.
If you did it with AI, you didn't write a book.
If you did it with AI, you didn't make music.
"But, but, but, I don't know how to do those things on my own"
THEN LEARN.

....bro. are we fr?
fortnite was once the leading game in the industry. now execs don't even trust their employees enough to do the very same thing they've done for 9 years WITHOUT genAI
the state of the industry is just... extremely sad right now. what happened to the arts?
Epic Employees have joked about Epic Games "AI First" approach going forwards (via: Bloomberg)
During a video call last week, some Epic developers made jokes about how to handle errors in AI-generated work, asking if they should just have Claude fix its own mistake.
Others at Epic are hoping that this AI First approach is not a serious request, or that Epic will reverse course in the future.
Some argue that this approach will not be as successful as the company hopes it will be.

The people in this thread commenting things like "why waste your time doing this when ai can do it for you" truly do not understand the point of life.
The stop-motion animation work behind LAIKA’s WILDWOOD (2026) is absolutely insane.
136 handcrafted sets, over 200 practical puppets and 49 animators working across 231 weeks, with some shots producing just 1–4 seconds of animation per week.

Finally completed Star Wars: Zero Company!! This game was awesome, my first foray into turn-based tactics games and I loved it! Such cool connections to the lore of the Star Wars galaxy and other stories. Being able to create my own characters and choose my squads was so exciting 😍
So grateful that I got to be there in Japan for the game's announcement, it certainly lived up to the hype 🥳

I recorded the entire dance in one shot, and vastly improved the Live Link Face tracking this time around #UEFN
