Exclusive: Asylum seekers are being told “men and women are equal” in the UK amid mounting fears over integration and cultural values. The Home Office has issued new guidance to arrivals telling them “this means women can work, study, travel and make their own choices”. They also detail what rape is under UK law in a new booklet: "Consent is needed in every situation. This means even if you are married or in a relationship with someone, they must consent to sex every time. "If you have sex with someone without their consent, this is called rape. Rape is a serious crime in the UK. You could go to prison, lose your support and accommodation, and it will affect your asylum claim."

NEW: The migrant crisis is partly to blame for local councils facing a £4 billion bill for housing support, the OBR has warned. Statisticians revealed local authority spending has soared from £2bn to £4bn "driven by increases in the cost of provision of housing for homeless families and for refugees transitioning out of asylum accommodation."

NEW: Labour is planning to splurge £150million next year on dumping illegal migrants in former military bases, Treasury documents reveal. The Home Office has sparked fury by planning to move MoD Bicester, RAF Barnham and RAF Linton-on-Ouse, with communities vowing to fight the plans every step of the way. And Andy Burnham’s Government has created a £150million war chest for military sites to be converted to asylum accommodation.

It’s a jolly good job our enemies don’t mind waiting for Britain to sort itself out…

The hysteria around Max Dowman’s red is pathetic. It’s a sending off regardless of whether you’re a 12-year-old wunderkind or a 34-year-old L2 clogger. More importantly, it’s part of his development arc as a prodigious English teenager.

This is unbelievably grim.
UK new minimum wage: £27,456 per year. Higher-rate tax bracket: £50,270. 1.8x difference. In 1997 there was a 5x difference. Mind boggling.

Very interesting that the Justice Secretary has missed out criminals being released early... And some of those being given tents... Or the reoffending of convicts let out early... Or the offenders not being tagged. If that's a good start, what is a bad start?!
100 days in. We’ve made a good start, delivered progress and set the direction. Now the focus is on turning ambition into results. The work continues.

NEW: Staggering details emerging from Westminster Mags on the RAF Fairford plot today. One of the five men arrested near the US military base called the police after a "handler" warned there was a bomb in the van, a court heard. Mohmed Abdulkarim, 24, and Nouman Essghir, 24, both appeared in court on Tuesday charged under the National Security Act 2023. Abdulkarim, of London, is accused of assisting a foreign intelligence service, by acting as an “intermediary” for the handler Ali. While Essghir, also of London, has been charged with entering a prohibited place for a purpose prejudicial to the UK, relating to an alleged “reconnaissance” mission on August 22, around a month before the Fairford incident. The group were ordered to drive the van loaded with petrol to RAF Fairford by a handler known as ‘Ali’ who police believe was working on behalf of Iran. No explosives, or improvised explosives were found in the vans, the court heard. Police did find a metal oil drum in each, two of which had petrol in, along with hard plastic water butts and internet-enabled dashcams. Prosecuting, Louise Gray, said: “Shortly thereafter the message was received that there was a bomb in the vehicles and one of them called the police.” Abdulkarim is alleged to have aided the organiser, Ali, who is believed to be abroad and to be acting in the interests of the Iranian state. Ali is also potentially connected to an incident at the Israeli embassy earlier this year, where propaganda videos were posted online suggesting it had been attacked with a chemical weapon by a drone, the court heard. Prosecutors allege that Abdulkarim aided Ali, buying equipment for the mission and receiving multiple payments from him totalling around £70,000. Before the men, allegedly enlisted by Abdulkarim, travelled to RAF Fairford, £300 worth of petrol was filled into the drums in the back of the vans.

The bottom line of this tweet is critically important.
Two men have been charged over the RAF Fairford incident. There was a lot of commentary at the time, much of it generated by the US. It’s clear there is/was a fair amount of intelligence about what happened Intelligence isn’t evidence and can rarely be used in a courtroom

Britain’s top terror cop defended the police probe into the RAF Fairford incident, as two suspects were finally charged. Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, the Head of Counter Terrorism Policing, admitted some decisions can “appear illogical”, after seven suspects were initially released on bail. And the senior officer confirmed specialists believe the plot was being orchestrated by a “foreign intelligence service”.

Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.

It's fair to say this ILR row is getting a bit out of hand... Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan said he does not support the original proposals put forward by the Home Secretary. More than 100 Labour MPs, trade unions and even some of the party's own voters are against the current ideas. But Shabana Mahmood has insisted the plans are necessary to prevent low skilled migrants getting ILR - and therefore access to the benefits system. Yet, she couldn't say today her plans will be implemented in full.' @CPhilpOfficial is now throwing the boot in. All very messy for Labour. And a reminder, more than 200,000 have got ILR since Ms Mahmood announced her plan. Failure to act will cost billions.
