Ramesh Inspects Initiative to Curb Roadside Garbage Blackspots To strengthen solid waste management and prevent roadside garbage blackspots, Bengaluru South City Corporation has introduced a pilot initiative for evening waste collection from 5:00 PM to 12:00 midnight in five wards. 🔹 Convenient Waste Collection: Evening collection of wet and dry waste will help office-goers, students and homemakers who find it difficult to hand over waste during morning hours. 🔹 Pilot in Five Wards: The initiative covers four wards in the Bommanahalli Assembly constituency and Hongasandra Ward. Around 20–25 autos are deployed for evening collection across the five wards. 🔹 Hongasandra Ward: Six vehicles — three for wet waste and three for dry waste — are operating during evening hours, supplementing the existing morning collection system. 🔹 Commissioner’s Inspection: Commissioner K. N. Ramesh personally inspected the pilot initiative and reviewed its implementation. 🚗 Proposal for Organised Parking: During the inspection, the Commissioner directed officials to examine the unused space beneath the HSR Layout flyover, opposite JSS Public School, and prepare a proposal to develop it as an organised parking facility to address traffic congestion and parking issues near Agara Lake.
