HEAR ME OUT - they redo CH1 completely in 2027 then actually try their absolute hardest with keeping everything 1:1. Graphics / OG movement animations / correct stats and truly capture the 2018 feel with the surprise of old battle passes returning for the seasons (massive cope)

Around chapter 4. Epic stopped seeing Fortnite as a video game but more as a platform for UEFN metaverse and a perfect place to demo Unreal engine features. The core battle royale is seemingly no longer top priority. This change in direction has led to -Transition from state machines(Og anims) to Motion matching(Ch5+ anims) - UI redesign,removal of rarities, etc - Continuous push of the discovery system - Shift in art style.

Watching the zero build players wake up in real time and realise these animations suck is jsut heartbreaking 💔 could have had these dogshit anims gone years ago if people actually spoke up

Nice to see ppl talking about this stuff more in a normal manner. Avoided talking about it for years for various reasons but we're past that. The game feels a lot much worse now as a result of the anim changes imo. Had multiple friends stop playing when they were changed :/

Dude just add it as a setting, I’ve tried to humble myself and not be a OG movement crybaby, but it gets to a point. I’m so done pretending like the current animations have pushed the game to be better. Compare any clip from ch1-4, to any clip from ch5-7 and you’ll get it.
