I always thought the BBC contributed £5b to the economy. It’s actually £6.5b. Why hasn’t @lisanandy supported it and TV workers generally? Bizarre. I hope things improve with the new Government. We need our cultural institutions for so many reasons.

Includes a livestream of Ch4 too. Interesting move especially for Disney who already have a content-sharing deal with ITV
Today Channel 4 and The Walt Disney Company have announced a landmark new partnership that will bring a Channel 4-branded service to Disney+ customers in the UK and Ireland from early 2027.

GB News allows Nigel Farage to speak for 1.5mins without interruption, both presenters sat there like nodding dogs, while the X account just posts his speech without any challenge over what he said. This is why the BBC is essential.
‘We are over diagnosing ADHD among young people.’ Reform UK leader Nigel Farage believes Britain needs a ‘rejig’ in how it treats young people, as the National Living Wage is due to increase in the Budget. 📺 Freeview 236, Sky 512, Virgin 604

But Twitter keeps telling me that Robbie Gibb is in control of what happens on the pro-Reform right wing BBC! Surely people weren’t massively wrong?!
'Do you think it's racist' Reform UK leader Nigel Farage was questioned on #BBCBreakfast after his former senior aide Raheem Kassam called Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch as a 'Nigerian scammer' bbc.co.uk/news/topics/cp07jz…

George Takei is remembering his longtime “loyal friend” and “Star Trek” co-star Walter Koenig, who died Sunday in Los Angeles: “My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades,” the post continued. “When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man. Just last month, on Sept. 14, he turned 90, on the same day Brad and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I will always treasure that he and I shared that date. Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too. Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course.” variety.com/2026/film/news/w…

Fantastic interview with Patrick Stewart on the always fantastic @RichRollPodcast 👍
Patrick Stewart says Rod Steiger blew up at the crew on his first movie so the unknown kid next to him would get to film his own close-up "Okay, that's all we need of you, Bill. You can go to lunch now." "He said, what about Patrick?" "We'll have somebody read in for you and it'll all be fine." "And he said, the camera photographs thoughts." Steiger was done for the day and could have walked off to lunch. He stayed in that car and fought for an actor nobody knew yet. Then he said sorry and pulled him into his trailer for an acting lesson. Years later Stewart was the guy in the captain's chair, and it sounds like he never forgot who showed him how to lead a set.

Bless Walter Koenig. Often overlooked, but always gave great value as Chekov. Glad he made it into ‘Generations’ for one last hurrah.
RIP Walter "Chekov" Koenig. Here he is looking for "nuclear wessels" in Star Trek IV (1986):

Nigel was never on Gogglebox. He appeared in a one-off special hosted by two people from Gogglebox in 2014. It was not the same show, it was two people interviewing him.
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage recalls the time he went on Gogglebox in 2014 "I am years ahead of Burnham, Badenoch and all the rest of them"

It increasingly feels like Farage is out of touch and lost all the momentum of the last few years. I wonder if Burnham being so honest about Brexit has triggered something within people, along with the Tories appearing to restore their messaging
I’m not sure I’ve seen a Nigel Farage press conference quite this empty

How odd that with all this conversation about Britain having control over its own energy supply, OVO - an independent British-owned energy supplier - got bought by German multinational E.ON. a few weeks ago. Wonder why that couldn’t be stopped?

Reform threw everything and everyone at the Makerfield by-election. Andy Burnham won by a massive majority. It is not for Nigel Farage to lecture us about what we want here.
This is a total betrayal of Brexit Britain and his Makerfield pitch. He is also deluded to say immigration was different when we were members of the EU. We will fight this dishonesty.
