They say God works in mysterious ways... I didn’t ask for this number, but I got it the season of your 45th birthday. I’m still speechless about losing you. None of that pain has faded away... Happy 45th birthday Pops. Love❤️ #LL33🕊
The problem with in season training is Myths are formed because it’s often times done wrong.
The day after a game is not the day to max out.
It's for moving: light bike, mobility, soft tissue.
Lift hard early in the week, taper before Friday.
Speed fades in season too.
Tired legs at practice all week means kids never practice being fast.
A few quality & coached max-effort sprints, fresh, each week keeps the engine sharp.
Coaches have limited scholarships and plenty of options.
They're not looking for a reason to take you.
They're looking for a reason to pass.
Don't give them one!
Parents, the car ride home matters.
Don't coach the game again.
Ask: What did you learn?
What do you want to work on?
Then help him/her go work on it!
If you’re not equipped to do so yourself or you have better options than yourself that’s where training comes in!
Strength is armor.
Stronger muscles and tendons handle contact better.
Stop lifting in season and kids enter the most physical part of the year with less armor every week!
FUN FACT: Football is a deceleration sport too.
Receivers brake to create separation.
Defenders brake to change direction.
Running backs brake to cut.
Acceleration gets the attention.
Deceleration deserves training time, too.
