Starting with my thoughts on what I believe the Defence Force of #IndyWales could look like, it's structure, potential equipment etc under @Plaid_Cymru defence policy

It is now 37 years ago that the last episode of #Blackadder Goes Forth was screened. This TV gold concluded 3 hrs of unmatched of comedy to many of us. But there was a deeper message throughout encapsulated in this moving final scene.

Just a few minutes to go until the kick-off of Ospreys v Dragons here at St Helen’s and happily the rain has finally stopped.
So here goes.
A new era begins at a new home for the Ospreys.
The Summer 2026 season comes to an end today, an eventful one for sure!
My summary of key moments for Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow are below.
Now what happens? 👀
In a bizarre video titled “Remembering Aberfan ❤️” Reform’s Welsh leader pays tribute to people killed in the disaster 60 years ago before saying we need ban face coverings…
The Triple Lock Reformed
Ireland must be able to make our own democratic decisions on where we deploy our peacekeepers, not be vetoed by Russia or any other country.
To those who claim removing the triple lock and re-arming the Irish Military will lead us into foreign wars of conquest, remember, we had Corvettes,Tanks and Fighter aircraft before ... and the sky didn't fall in. Listen to the experts, trust the facts, ignore the fiction.
Irish Military planners are preparing to recommend the purchase of more than 550 armoured vehicles from France.
Enough to equip a brigade of 4,000 troops.
The purchases would include:
Griffon troop carriers,
Serval armoured vehicles &
Jaguar combats with turret-cannons.
This would be a major expansion of the Irish Army’s capabilities, including “limited conventional war fighting.”
The stated purposes include defending Ireland, protecting peacekeepers in dangerous environments and participating in:
“EU expeditionary operations”
Retired Defence Forces weapons specialist Alan Kearney describes the purchase price as:
“a drop in the ocean”…compared with the full lifetime cost.
Look at Belgium. 🇧🇪
Its Court of Audit puts its wider motorised military programme at at least €14.7 BILLION over 25 years.
Then comes the practical question: can we keep the fleet working?
“Where are they going to go? Who is going to maintain them? Who is going to fix the guns?”
The report says the Army is short of enlisted personnel specialising in vehicle maintenance.
skills that take years to build.
His verdict:
“It’s a recipe for disaster.”
What do you think?
Is it about time Ireland got its act together?
Or
Is this a major step away from neutrality?
There was a time when a politician would recognise how huge a mistake something like this is and resign.
Aberfan was a tragedy, not an opportunity to grab attention and tell people about @reformparty_uk policies.
Hang your head in shame @HelenJennerMS.
Hang your head in shame @reformukwales.
This is absolutely unbelievable.
Reform UK’s Leader in Wales, @HelenJennerMS, using the anniversary of the tragedy in Aberfan as ‘click bait’ to tell you about Reform UK policies @reformukwales have recently floated.
EC-LVO a 13 year old A320 could well be the aircraft to operate Vuelings last flight from Cardiff Airport. Hopefully it's not but will be a shame if they don't return in Summer 2027.😕
