The third ICE officer to be indicted under Trump 2 was a failed congressional candidate from up-for-grabs Brownsville, had been rejected by CBP and resigned while on probation from the state prison system - wild mad libs from @DugBegley@JulianGi11houstonchronicle.com/news/ho…
sheriffs.substack.com/p/a-re… "This country is underpoliced," @JessPish writes. "By this, I mean corporate crime as well as the violence the state imposes on residents and even people in other countries, who must suffer and die through neglect, removal of assistance, or outright killing."

This is a town of three stoplights, five gas stations, five Mexican restaurants, and five churches. It is — or was — 45% Latino.
Yet within a year of the flood, the town’s tiny PD had delivered the equivalent of 10% of Ingram to ICE.
Early this year, I visited Ingram, a TX town of ~1,900, to check out a tip.
The area was starting to recover from its worst flood in a century.
But as Latino workers drove to jobsites to help rebuild, the tipster said, a cop in a black Dodge Charger kept stopping them ... 🧵
Thrilled to share that the UK edition of THERE IS NO PLACE FOR US is out now.
Though the book is based in Atlanta, the forces pushing people into homelessness extend far beyond the US. So, too, does the growing movement fighting for safe, affordable housing as a basic right.
Toforest Johnson’s death sentence was commuted in Alabama today.
Gov. Kay Ivey acknowledged concerns about the evidence that led to his 1998 conviction.
Johnson’s case is the subject of @bshelburne’s Bone Valley Season 4, Earwitness.
TOFOREST JOHNSON'S DEATH SENTENCE HAS BEEN COMMUTED! Gov. Kay Ivey grants clemency in long-running wrongful conviction. I am sobbing with gratitude and relief.
More work to do, but this is a victory for truth and justice. Thank you, God!!!!!!!!!!
Toforest Johnson's death sentence was commuted over concerns he might be innocent, and those concerns are mainly public because of @bshelburne's incredible journalism.

Some background on Mr. Bock, the new Deputy Chief of Staff at ICE, who is pushing Great Replacement theory here while using the “remigration” language of the European far right, a phrase whose connotations he is well aware of.
It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve President Trump at @DHSgov.
Remigration is the decisive battle of our time, and represents the only means of securing the longevity of this Republic and the continuity of the people and civilization that built it.
The work continues at @ICEgov.
Arkansas GOP sheriff nominee Aaron Spencer tracked down Michael Fosler, a child sex abuser out on bond, and shot him after finding his missing 13-year-old daughter in Fosler's truck. A judge dismissed the murder charge after deputies lost a dash-cam memory card. Great story by @JessPishslate.com/news-and-politics/…
Missouri has kicked this around for a while. It would make sheriffs harder to abolish, harder to remove from office, and give a pretextual excuse to sue the state for laws.
Stocks is serving three consecutive life sentences. His only recourse now is clemency from the governor of Arkansas. A court did not consider his abuse, and the extent of what Walls did was not known.
