A man of dignity in an age of indignity.
Thank you @Keir_Starmer for your service to our country.
You didn’t deserve this.

Appalled by death of Mohamed el Shami in Houthi custody, the second @UN aid worker to die in detention.
The UK calls for the immediate & unconditional release of UN workers arbitrarily detained.
We condemn unacceptable blocking of vital aid to Yemenis in need.

The Budget creates breathing space for my constituency and beyond:
- £100 energy payment for 41,760 households this winter
- 2-year business rates freeze for 336 local pubs, shops and restaurants
- Fuel duty frozen until July 2027
Now let's go further for young people.

My Budget today will help families with the pressures they face now.
It will back businesses and entrepreneurs, invest in Britain's future, and strengthen our national security.
A plan to get through this moment and build a stronger Britain.

I continue to talk to the Integrated Care Board about urgent care at the Hospital of St Cross. The full details will follow once a provider is appointed, but my understanding of what is coming is a significant uplift for Rugby. Here is where things stand.

Today is United Nations Day. Whenever I speak about international relations in Parliament, I try to refer to the importance of the international rules-based system.

Deeply saddened and shocked by the horrific attack at a church in Karak, Jordan.
My thoughts are with all those who have been killed and their loved ones.
The UK stands resolutely with Jordan at this distressing time.

The UK and Oman share almost 400 years of friendship.
The State Visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik enshrines this as a partnership for the future.
Good to meet @badralbusaidi to reaffirm our work together, including on education, investment and regional stability.

The Houthi attacks on our ally Saudi Arabia are dangerous for the region.
Today @wesstreeting approved further UK military support for Saudi Arabia. RAF Typhoons will fly defensive air missions to protect Saudi airspace from drones and missiles. This builds on the air defence and air-to-air refueling support we have already provided.

I was horrified to hear of the attack on Australian MP Helen Haines. My thoughts are with Helen and her family at this difficult time.
Nobody who serves their community should face violence while doing their job. Sending Helen our full support from the UK House of Commons.

I've been elected Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Saudi Arabia this week.
Saudi Arabia is an important and close ally of the UK and I am glad that the government has expanded its military support to the Kingdom to defend itself from attacks by the Houthis.

I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
Anywhere in the world, for a democracy to function properly, all politicians, whatever their political persuasion, must be able to carry out their role without fear.

It's so frustrating when the actions of a few spoil your journey.
Our new campaign reminds passengers to use headphones on trains, and highlights the penalties.
And local leaders get new powers to tackle music, vaping and littering on buses.

My statement on the deadline for bids for the E1 settlement tender ⬇️
ALT STATEMENT ON E1 SETTLEMENT EXPANSION 19 October 2026 The decision by the Israeli Government to open tenders for settlements in E1 is a direct threat to the prospect of a two-state solution and has been widely condemned by the international community. Today is the deadline for bids for the E1 settlement tender. I want to be very clear with those considering engaging in the tendering process: we have created new powers allowing us to sanction individuals and companies involved in the construction of illegal settlements such as E1. We urge businesses and individuals not to proceed with bids for E1 construction tenders. They should be aware of legal and reputational consequences, including the risk of involving themselves in serious breaches of international law. FULL STATEMENT CONTINUES ON GOV.UK

Archie Goodburn took his plea to Downing Street, and I welcome the review he won. Its findings will come to the APPG on Brain Tumours.
Better resourcing for research into rare cancer treatments has been a focus of mine since a constituent contacted me soon after I became an MP.
Andy Burnham has announced plans for a national brain cancer clinical lead – a key plea from swimmer Archie Goodburn when he made an emotional appeal on #BBCBreakfast earlier this year.
Archie met the PM in Downing Street and welcomed a package of measures including a review of brain cancer progress since 2018 and action to get patients new treatments sooner
