This game isn't an adaption of Origins, so your point there is moot. Secondly, when developers are more creative in 09 than they are in 2026, that says a lot. The combat is not more polished Wolverine moves around like he's clunky and lethargic.
I'll break down my issues with the dialogue, none of the characters talk like they do in the comics. Their speech isn't natural to the characters, Sabertooth saying shit like, "That's my Wolverine" and the continuous playful use of the word "runt" instead of using it as an insult, Sabertooth comes across as the character that the writing room would satirize because it's everything they dislike.
Wolverine's dialogue is soft and isn't sharp at all, he has none of the snark or wit you'd see from a comic book wolverine. Here's example of him introducing his clone, this is from a more modern run, but even this nails it better.
None of the character dynamics seem to work well, not even between the characters that have established relationships, Wolverine and Sabertooth, don't work at all, all of the dialogue seems forced like they want them to be friends but can't be. Mystique's dialogue with Wolverine is there to progress the story forward but never really shows their dynamic.
Jean and Logan's dynamic never really is shown to flourish it's established and then just there. There's no real build up to it, again forced to make the story move along.
All in all there's a lot of "and then" story telling and the plot needs to happen because it needs to happen, not because events push the story along.
