RAMPART: Quality-of-Life Outcomes With Adjuvant Durvalumab in Resected RCC
At ESMO Congress 2026, Sophie Merrick presented patient-reported outcomes from the RAMPART trial (3590RO), comparing adjuvant durvalumab with active monitoring in 218 patients with resected renal cell carcinoma.
Key findings:
▫️ Primary QoL endpoint: No evidence of a difference in overall health and quality of life (OHQL) between groups at Month 15.
▫️ Week 16: Durvalumab was associated with clinically meaningful worsening in OHQL (−7.4), role functioning (−7.1), cognitive functioning (−5.3), fatigue (+5.5), and appetite loss (+5.8).
▫️ Month 15: Differences persisted in cognitive functioning (−7.1) and appetite loss (+7.4), with later worsening in dyspnoea (+7.5) and constipation (+12.2).
Takeaway: Although the primary QoL endpoint showed no evidence of a difference, exploratory domain-specific analyses identified clinically meaningful effects during and after adjuvant durvalumab treatment. These findings require cautious interpretation, particularly the single-item dyspnoea and constipation outcomes.
