No the real reason is 40 pitches on a Tuesday for LL team. 80 pitches on Saturday for travel team tournament. Then another 60 pitches on Sunday in the championship travel tournament bracket. Year round, starting at 8 years old. It’s an epidemic.

In a travel baseball world obsessed with more games, more showcases and more exposure, the Lower Bucks Minutemen (@LB_Minutemen) are taking a different approach. More practice. More teaching. More development. GM John Crane explains why the program is focused on building players, protecting arms and preparing kids for what comes next. @PhillySelect philadelphiabaseballreview.c…

A Big Ten pitching coach told me there is no such thing as being finished recruiting for a class, and no such thing as it being too late, because if they are good enough, coaches will find a way to add them. Jimmy Jackson, then at Maryland, early 2024. Every coach who has done this long enough has stories of players found in the fall of senior year, the spring of senior year, and beyond. Panic is a sales tool. It is not a calendar.
