Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva has underscored the vital role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in economic development through job creation, innovation and expanding business opportunities, particularly for women and young people. He made the remarks while officially opening the 26th East African Community (EAC) Small and Medium Enterprises Trade Fair, which brings together SMEs from across the region.

The Private Sector Federation (PSF) in Rwanda has held a leadership handover ceremony at its headquarters in Gikondo, Kigali. During the ceremony, Callixte Kanamugire officially handed over his responsibilities to the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Clement Uwajeneza. Gashugi André was also announced as the federation’s new Deputy CEO. The leadership changes mark the beginning of a new chapter for PSF, an umbrella body representing Rwanda’s private sector and playing a key role in promoting business, investment and advocating for the interests of private businesses.

The Governor of the Northern Province, Maurice @gahundemaurice encouraged entrepreneurs to use the capital markets to finance viable projects, increase production and create jobs. He noted as well the private sector’s role in the country’s economic development. Our CEO @RomeoNgarambe emphasised that access to investor capital requires sound corporate governance, reliable financial reporting and clear business plans. He encouraged companies to prepare for the requirements of raising funds through the market.
